intermittant storms
rage in the sky and my heart
my unshed tears burn

holds infant for life's last breath
whisper soft exhale
Littlest Angel holds breath

Sleepy Eyes Itch

Truths slash open innermost fears
Sleepy eyes itch with unshed tears
Pounding heartbeat eats the silence
Never before exposed to such violence.
Form: Rhyme

Lonely

Lonely heart, mind, soul and body
Overcast with sorrow and heavy with unshed tears
Never again can I hold my love and
Ever he willed my love to die
Loving anew, remarried, leaving me dying
You'll never know I love you still until the end of time

A Drop of Starlight

A drop of starlight hung above
  a mountains shadowy peak,
Like a dewdrop on a spiders web--
  a jewel that many seek.

Sparkling, quivering, like an unshed tear
  it tells of sorrows past,
Of joys to come, and blessings
  from Heaven to us cast.
Form: Lyric

Premium Member A Toast to Once Loved Lost to Others

I lift a glass once meant to toast us, brimming with all our future lost for others to keep and cheer. It tastes bitter and sour when left unfinished, its aftertaste lingers on tainted spent rent dry with unshed tears dripping with resounding cheers

The gold star weeps
twelve silver tears,
one still unshed.

Dawn's bow twangs
in the doe's soft ear.

Tang of fog,
tang of frost,
tang of fire:

three blonde crones
cast the horizon
of the chestnut hearth.

Ups and Downs

Smiles
for fun
cuddly pets
falling in love
small children trying things for the first time

When I see someone treated unfairly
war and hunger
unshed tears
make me
frown

Unread Love Poems

Unread love poems
By
Jude Kyrie

Between the sun and moon
Were the poems that we shed
Words of love that fell as snowflakes
But were forever left unread
The night stars were ever crying
At the words we left unsaid
They poured stardust down like teardrops
At all the love we left unshed.

Leftover Wine

Bleary eyes search
the darkened corners
Of the strange room.
Where am I?
Who brought me here?
My mind spins
wildly in rhythm with
the quaking of my soul.
Eye's Burning
with unshed tears.
I strangle on my sorrow
as I try to recall
something more
than the taste
of left over wine.

Premium Member A Fistful of Senryu

A fading intent
Lost amid echoed voices
A blurring of lines

A meaningless word
Adrift on a feeling
Softness or sting

Her eyes lied
As she spoke her “truth”
A lover’s denial

A barb blindly tossed
An unnoticed flinch
An unshed tear

Malnourished
When the wise lack wisdom
Un-nurtured youth

Premium Member Be a Man

I was always taught
Men shouldn't cry
Now when I look back
I'm left to wonder why

Lack of expression
Emotions held inside
Silly badge of honor
A mans stoic pride

Hearts that are broken
Pain from many years
Souls that are drowning
In pools of unshed tears

Strength redefined
Time to be real
Men no longer shackled
They can express how they feel
Form: Rhyme

Coming Out of the Pain

I am a fractured cat
thin as sleet, nails for a brain.
There's a place to find
to get out of this pain.
Dragging myself out of the rain
letting a drenched door swing open
rubbing every naked nerve
over a prayer-mat,
finding a corner to dry
unshed tears.
I'm a gaunt spook-eyed tiger
and tigers eat the hurt, devoid
of self-pity or stripes.

Ajar

How long ago did she lose her tears
honest tears of sadness or joy
a trusting heart lost for years
pretend emotions now her decoy
weeping heart captive and barred
concealed essence slowly clears
bound emotions begin to shard
now feeling her inner guide
showing her she should not fear
her trusting heart will open wide
when she finds her unshed tears

Ugly Scars

Tons of black tears of unshed pain
So much to loose and nothing to gain.
While sadness keeps ripping and tearing ur heart
The rest of u seems like it’s falling apart.
A bottomless pit of unthinkable sorrow
Instead of warm hugs or glimpses of a better tomorrow.
It seems the cruel world is enjoying its farce
But all that ur left with are deep ugly scars…
Form:

Betrayed

I shared with you something so special to me.
I let loose something I can't take back.
Today, you hurt me calling her baby
Making those funny comments.
I hurt deep inside.
A softer part died
The tears stay unshed
I am drowning where my soul dwells.
My emotions, so confused, as am I.
The deepest part of my heart
Holds tight to the past.
When can I release?

Portrait

Unshed tears
Broken smiles
Happiness never lasts
Fading dreams vivid nightmares
Joy being a thing of the past
Little hope for tomorrow
Dreading today
I’d rather be curled up in bed
Loved ones departing
Constantly crying
Heart mending words never said
But still life continues
Pain fades
Memories forever tainted
Scars settle
As time goes by
The portrait of my life being painted

Premium Member The Face

The face of this old man painted
as the pastel portrait mute,
turned grey the hard way,
looks at the memory space vacant.
The pensive eyes, one shrouded by
the shadow of sorrow,
the other brimmed by
the film of frozen tears unshed
for the dear ones gone,
engraved in the webbed face
as the scars of the lost time.

Stagnant Star

I feel just like a stagnant star
Bold and beautiful,
But can’t get far.
My eyes are shining
With unshed tears
My heart radiates the heat
Of long-held fears.

My soul brushed With touches of gold
But to humankind they’ve naught been told.
A Star, indeed, yet stuck so-
Ready to bloom into Divinity, ready to grow
Into a shining Nova that consumes every other star
But consequences allow that I will not get far.

Premium Member If Id Only Known

If I’d Only Known Miracle Man October 24, 2023 We age and mountains seem to get taller, but we trudge on seeing we’ve no choice. Our gait once more, is that of a crawler, and in public space we’ve no more voice. Many things challenge us in advanced years, and sooner or later we all wind up lonely. Our eyes are now filled with unshed tears, And we question “what if’s” and “if I’d only”.

Why Be Happy

What is this feeling that rejoice and hurts an instance of laughter the next of tears Tears that lingers unshed and weary erupting saddness wringing and scary Why be happy when saddness awaits like a sleeping serpent to rise its hood Its bite stings with searing pain flushing out the blissful feel Why be happy or be sad neither lets you stay sane nor glad © Nadiya (17 Jan '15)

Let Few

Let few dangling words be unsaid
Let them remain unspoken
For if all is said what will remain?..

Let few painful feelings be unexpressed
Let then remain in the heart
For if all is expressed what will remain?..

Let few bitter tears be unshed
Let then remain in the eyes..
For if all is shed what will remain?..

Let few awesome mysteries be unveiled..
Let them remain in our life..
For if all is revealed what will remain?..

Longings

Pounding heart, swiftly reminiscing in music of love,

Crave for touch, as of when well carved face lingered,

Glistening eyes, with thoughts of how they belonged,

Novelty of unshed tears, keeps mood in chaos,

Wallowing darkness, for timeless piteous conscience,

Silently seeking free from misery, never letting off,

Paving way, for a dawn of unborn series of reflection,

Toward the light of untold stories, for thorough impact.

Time of the Wasteful

Sitting here thinking
wasting time
is that all I am?
holding back my tears
like you never held my hand.

Being stupid one more time
on another not to be mine
my tears go unshed
words that can't be unsaid

Splintered heart
that he's tearing apart
crying again
as I have since then

Can't ignore the pain
can't hide it's stain
it's already to late
just can't concentrate

On work or study
to you
am I no more
than a waste of time?
