If Only
Midday,
no shadows to muddle the glare.

Fawn stuck in a briar bush.
Bear coming.

If only a cloud
could hide the face of death?

The hungry cries
of her cubs unsettle the air.

If only you were not so near
to overhear....

Dust
As earth starts to unsettle The ground begins to tremble Rocks stumble and crumble The mountains tumble While the oceans bubble Knowing the outcome will be so humble We will all hear GOD mumble When the seas level And the dust settles

unspoken,unsaid
swirl,whirl
ripple,ruffle
tease,torture
delve,funnel
foreboding burrows,
in narrow tunnels;

Fazed,crazed
imagined fancies,
unnerve,unsettle
weigh down
upset perturb;
abound and tease
with imagined dis-ease.

Change of Seasons
Fall breezes carry summer
scents fading
on wind tides grown
restless and
chill

 Dandelion fluffs catch
on currents uneasy
spiraling among
the trees to tangle
in crackling leaves
   wandering
       drifting ~
    to gather in the corner
of my doorstep . . .
    only
to unsettle in a puff
as
the door slams shut....

Loveless Pond
If I told you the truth how would you respond,
would you unsettle the still lying loveless pond?
Yet nothing compares to the heart broken pain
that would dawn upon me like wrath from life's bane
Cometh the lesser response that I fear
would thy have mercy and spare me a tear?
Or might thy leave me with deep distraught,
withering plants in my gardens of thought......

Logical Meets Illogical

Are we
ever happy
inside,really,
or dumfounded
under hopes.

Always, questions
elude serious
investigations, bewilders
ordinary, acknowledged
understanding.

Alarming solutions,
explanations to
intricate queries,
obviously will
unsettle.

Antonyms come,
enthralling, philosophical
in nature
once realized,
unforgettable.

Black Was Called the Kettle
‘Black’ was called the kettle
But it didn’t it nettle
Nor its relaxed mind unsettle…

‘Black’ foully flung at the kettle,
Almost as a test of its mettle
And an order to order soapy Dettol
But also a bold try give the fatal:
Some grisly violence occasion the pot
Guiltily The Blacker on every spot…

But Amiable kettle considered this not,
Feud- Loving spectators denying blows hot!...

A Quiet Night
After the spooky night
there was the
morphean balm.

You pull out the meat
from the bones.
A genteel confession-

keeps tumbling out.
The haunted house
sends forth the tiny ghosts.

It was moon time.
You will drop a torpedo-
to unsettle the stray thoughts.

The geometry
falters. Lines are drawn
to remove the dots.

The skin you left
on the road;
still glows like a smoldering coal.

Premium Member Serenity In the Storm
When the storms of life unsettle
And you are wont to fume and fret.
Let not winds and waves upset you,
depend on God to see you through.

While the angry waves were leaping,
Jesus in the bow was sleeping.
Now he bids you cease from weeping,
And to trust His faithful keeping.

You need not face life’s storms alone.
Christ for you in heaven atones.
After the storms by you have flown
Like sturdy oaks, you would have grown....

Premium Member Vagabond Romance
romance of a Roma waggon
tinkering around the world
dreams of blissful freedom
no possessions nothing to lose
bells and whistles violin music
horses with intricate saddles
gallivanting on free reins
crackling camp fires

before you unsettle
look around you
scapegoating and othering
xenophobic attacks
even a tramp under a bridge
has less ill repute
at least a German born hobo

last caveat
visit the museum
at Auschwitz Birkenau
