I had a phonograph and it did stick
Just at the arrival of old St. Nick
He declared it uncouth
And replaced with Bluetooth
Then asserted “This is my bailiwick!”
while getting things done
listening to the old tunes
pleasant afternoon

LOVE TUNES
Form:
A soft breeze teases
The spider’s web plays
Sad violin tunes
An eerie silence
Accompanying
Its Phantom of the Opera
Deviousness
The strings vibrate
With a musician’s need
To reach, to touch
An unseen Audience
An orchestra of birds
Creates a mixed symphony-
Hoots of horn, sweep of violins
Enchanting flowers to whirl
And maples on pastures
Invite feathered friends
To nestle on their boughs--
Awaiting daylight's rhythmic croon.
When I find you
I press the repeat button
That is when it flows
From my mind to the paper
Words whether related or not pour
The lyrics and tune fill my soul
Bubbling inside me I spill
All my creativity
Out to my favorite songs.

Today’s Bible study, is on the apocalypse,
celestial feelings enhance my emotions.
The breeze is soft on the wind chimes lips,
affecting me like some night time potions.
One of a kind
ocean music
pounding Goombay rhythms
against the rocks
and rake and scrape rhythms
in the prevailing winds
and the waves mashing the roach
with their feet on the dance floor
of sun and sand
giving awesome summer vibes
from daybreak to sunset
The melody of summer grips
The soothing sounds vibrate the soul
Its rhythm tingles to the tips
The melody of summer grips
Bringing a smile to once sad lips
It frees the mind and makes you whole
The melody of summer grips
The soothing sounds vibrate the soul
Birds singing to dawn's delight
Sweet songs in the morning light
Balmy breeze, and the elm sways
Treetop tunes on summer days
Blooms blush where gardens grow
Red roses in sunshine's glow
Butterflies fluttering by

FRAGRANT TUNEs RISE
South winds blow winter away,
eye of sky turns blue from grey,
looks at dewed grass of meadow
sparkling in nascent sun’s glow.
Flowers bloom with color flair,
from petals fragrant tunes rise,
love sings and floats in spring air
on the wings of butterflies.

I long for the music
whispers of beauty hum,
smoky flares of red summer days,
man on fire lifts from brewing flames.
Sun over dark river propels
layers of colored light, vivid streamers,
and story white pages.
Morning bliss comes in
between the first true notes,
aroma spills across eyelids
its skin turned coffee dark.
hoity heist healed
cremating callous creed
dark tumbles drool
bounty bills booed
lanky lists shred
wanky wills wept
mystic metamorphoses moaned
crumbling, crushed clone
cunny crest thrown
bruised concerto bled
sassy syllables crept
twain trail crest
porous past punctured
tampered tunes tortured.

Note: Dedicated to Oscar Wilde.
A worn denim jacket stitched with memories of the open road,
A gentle voice twang carries the weight of every heavy load.
Smiles with the warmth of a porch beacon in the fading light,
And tears like a summer rain, washing clean the darkest night.
Stories, like a well-worn guitar, resonate in every bar and home,
Testament to the mortal temperament that endlessly will roam.
music trivia night
a blast from the past
recognizing songs
from every era
by the first few notes
unforgettable
etched in our memory
except you know the song
but can't think of the title
picture the singer
but not his name
this getting old sucks but
slipping back into the good ol' days
brings back the days
of youth and teenage years
and things forgotten

The harp can be heard, blending with the rain
Angelic tunes reach a shattered broken heart
Soothing every teardrop of treacherous pain
Piecing together facts that made it fall apart
Joy surpasses all the swirling pangs of hurt
Miraculous healing shines through the gray
As raindrops now trickle and the skies flirt
The sun comes out smiling, ready to play
