Pork You Pine
needles and nettles
thistles and thrushes
thrashers and hashish
each has a has as each
a brother and sister
a mister and missus
a this and a that is
their there and
they're there
and no
where
to be
found
finding
all is lost
what cost
freedom we
shall overcome...

Premium Member From a Distance
Oh, absent one, I miss you.
Darling, an empty place awaits you.
Thrushes chirp their dissatisfaction in the garden
As I doze with boredom.
I send my well wishes from a distance.

Oh, absent one, my digital phantom,
You're here when I call but not here.
I brush my hair with discontent;
I eat bitter, lonely meals to stay alive.
I send my love from a distance....

Premium Member Beauty Pastoral - Picture Perfect
About a castle crowned with gleaming towers,
Young grass and budding trees announce the Maytime;
Above the mountain streams or blooming flowers,
The thrushes and the larks sing all the daytime.

There through the woods rove pairs of lad and maiden,
Each damsels' hair with flowers overladen:
One plays a harp beside a crystal grotto;
To live each day 'neath beauty's locks their motto....

Early Morning Call
The sky was an opaque blue,
with small pink clouds dancing through.
The tops of the trees,
turned to a brilliant green,
as the rising sun blessed them,
with its golden sheen.
A cock pheasant was sending out,
his early morning call,
thrushes and black birds were singing,
at the wonder of it all.
Dawn is such a wonderous thing,
it makes my heart glad,
when I hear nature sing....

Premium Member Come July, Blackberries
Come July, blackberries ripen on prickly vine
Hug fence-lines defining the dusty country road
Twittering thrushes flutter, chirping while they dine
Come July, blackberries ripen on prickly vine
Sweeter fruits like faceted black diamonds shine.
Picking must begin before tall grasses are mowed
Come July, blackberries ripen on prickly vine
Hug fence-lines defining the dusty country road....

Fearless sailor boy, the wide open seas are calling,
As the whistles of thrushes, when no one is talking.
Royal destiny and daring, has led you here this day,
And deep thirst for adventure, will sweep you away!

Always your heart has known, one day you'd set sail,
Into the golden horizon, where contentment prevails;
But the tears you leave behind, has caused you sighs,
Someday you'll be returning, as true love never dies!...

Premium Member Spring Morning
early rising sun
hovering over the hills ~
my heart skips a beat

the welcome presence
of thrushes in the garden ~
ethereal tunes

purple clematis
adorns the wooden trellis ~
fragrant elegance

fluttering of wings ~
butterflies adapt to wind’s
choreography

it is late; my work must start
with reluctance I depart
