Spring Morning

early rising sun
hovering over the hills ~
my heart skips a beat

the welcome presence
of thrushes in the garden ~
ethereal tunes

purple clematis
adorns the wooden trellis ~
fragrant elegance

fluttering of wings ~
butterflies adapt to wind’s
choreography

it is late; my work must start
with reluctance I depart

Very creative work, Paul. Reads like a good contender for the contest to me. Way to go. I haven't seen any butterflies of late maybe a moth a week ago and way back earlier was seeing yellow swallowtail butterflies then they disappeared. I wonder what happened to them. Thanks for sharing this one and for dropping by my page. Sara

Thank you for a most pleasant visit, Sara. Incidentally I too have not seen many butterflies so far this time of year; the weather must have a lot to do with it. ~ I wish you a lovely weekend, my friend. // paul

Thank you, Joanna. This is not an easy poetry form; giving in to the temptation to write descriptive lines rather than haiku is more than a possibility! // paul

Hello Paul, So enjoyed your superb syllables. Trellis of purple perennials, butterflies' adaptation in wind. Bit of genius there, squeezing in choreography in scant haiku. Always a fan of fourteen lines, especially the common ground I found in the ending couplet. -Richard

What a refreshing poetry df Paul. Time passes so quickly and we change with the passing of time but nature always remain beautiful and refreshing. It may be the month of spring or of fall the beauty of nature moves our heart and mind with same rhythm. You have painted that simple beauty by your pen in these few lines so beautifully. Sorry for a very long absense from PS. With best wishes always....Ravindra
