The campfire crackled
As old friends tackled
The problems of the day

The problems weren’t solved
But everyone involved
Felt they had melted away...

Trump Had a Gun
Trump had a gone which was loaded
And after an accident it exploded
He then ran around ram shackled
By other side he had been tackled
Run for President he was goaded.

Poet
Poet is the eyes of crying world
Poet and the words
Of aching heart
yard Melancholy tackled in tact
Poet is the voice
Of laud in glory of crowd
Poet is a lyre in love
When the heart is stringed hard...

Lost In Train of Thought
There once was a fellow of Beccles abode
Who tackled a crossword wherever he rode.
But fully absorbed and in deep concentration
The poor chap would rarely alight at his station!

Pure
Energy crackled, it danced in your heart
Start shackled, a pony show to start
Always heckled, danger to the part
Inside freckled, riddled with bad art
Unleashed, cackled, daggers to your heart
Freedom, tackled, killed you with mine...

This Is My Time
turned over
a new leaf
from this moment
on to take this
chance and run
with it to the
finish line
not going to
fumble the ball
this time around
not going to be
tackled by self-doubt
this will be my moment
to finally achieve my dreams...

Humanimal
Tackled by a stutter murmur of Deus.
The praying ended and packed as threats.
Err, umm, uhh, were cliched by vomits.
Grasped all the needs and rusty flirts.
Prune back Sheoak! The cutest green pine.
Pity Sheoak no more green crown again.
Where are Quechua and Sherpa? They go....

Broken Wings
Broken Wings

A bird of broken wings
Heavy and dark of heart
Ill of spirit
Can neither dream nor pretend
Can neither soar nor defend
An essence love nor glue could ever mend
How elegant it graced the sky
Tackled its prey and won the fight

Untitled #87 / Outside the Capitol
Outside the Capitol
a young veteran is carrying
a flag, upside-down
and a wheeled coffin containing his friend
harsh words are tossed, and a Patriot
sneaks behind, robbing the deceased of his
combat boots. Fly off!
Ah, but quicker feet! Tackled from behind!
Punches thrown! A fight!
Who is winning?...

Just Words
From one chapter to another chapter
A challenge to new heights
Freedom to be independent
Wisdom adding maturity to age
Experiences go with your journey
Aquaintance becomes a friend
Awareness a new understanding
Fears tackled, fears yet to tackle
Emerging a self confidence
Discovering, learning to trust
So what does all this equal?
A life well lived - all worth living....

A Lazy Sunday
A lazy Sunday afternoon
For reading and reflecting,
For crossword puzzles, Words with Friends
And on-the-phone connecting.

The dreary weather makes me feel
No guilt for staying put.
I did my morning walk so there’s
No goofing off afoot.

Well, maybe just a little bit
For closets should be tackled,
But it’s real nice from chores to be
Just fleetingly unshackled....

Sledding
A perfect day for sledding –
Lots of snow, but not too cold.
Though Henry tackled hills, his sister
Wasn’t quite as bold.

So I pulled her sled behind me,
As she laughed, on level ground,
While Henry and his dad (my son)
Were bravely downward-bound.

The kids were beaming, filled with joy,
By heeding winter’s call,
But I’d swear their sledding daddy
Had the most fun of us all....

From opposite heads I hear crackles
you call me larry, even though I am Hilary
with my presence, lots of hate sprinkle
both minds convert to a dirty granary
forgetting that every problem can be tackled
to hatred, silence is an auxiliary
friendship suffering a swollen knuckle
but all these should soon pass a refinery
forgiveness cures the broken ankle
and makes life less complicated and ordinary...

Dead Wife Walking
I have grown tired and weary
Feeling drained and defeated
My desire to give is no more

I have tackled the fight
I've exhausted all my punches
Done trying to settle the score

Am I expecting too much
From this life that I am living?
There's gotta be more than this

What happened to Happy wife, Happy life'?
Feels like those days are numbered
Is this what becomes of wedded bliss?

Again;
I find myself here where
 I breathe, wait and hope

Not faithless, not hopeless, not even fearful
But full of anticipation of what can happen
Life has proven that where hope is present
and where faith is evident
Even if I stumble
As long as I am breathing, there is still opportunity for change
Change for the better and a chance for growth
Adversity should be tackled with faith and hope...

WWH
Watching the clock flip,
Finally, replacing the 3.
One year, now tackled,
But a beginning has arrived.
And so does school soon.

How do I interact?
What do I say?
How do I even greet people?
Especially my friends.

Surely it's not that bad.

Still such a nerve-racking thought,
My brain is clustered.
Maybe I should just home-school?
No, that wouldn't help.

But how?
How to, how do I?

What?
What do I do, what if?

Why?
Why do I think this?...

'Twas the day after Christmas and all through the house
The children were sleeping, too tired to arouse.
When all of a sudden there appeared in the room
Mama in her dustcap, carrying a broom.
She tackled the tree, taking much care
To remove every light, the tree was soon bare.
She packed everything, put it safely away
On a shelf in the attic, until next Christmas Day.
She dragged out the tree, then heaved a big sigh,
Sat down with her coffee and had a good cry....

Premium Member Photographing Turtle Cave At Sunset
worthwhile painters of sunsets tackled this romantic sky
turtles do not look up often, and their eyes are fuzzy
they might miss the colors, but they feel the richness of the day
turtle cave, a sanctuary for turtles in many sizes.

I stay my distance, photographing them with telescopic lenses.
my artist eyes take another peek at the fascinating pastel sky.
I return home with a plethora of photos, of the sunset.
each one a smidge different than the last; no one else sees it....

Wet and Wild
The shower is where we go to get dirty
A domain of filthy activity & debauchery
Together, we defile the sanctity of a shared space
An exercise for the well versed
Maneuvers that would make an acrobat blush
Water droplets mark the beginning of sensual hurricane
Swirled strokes to shake up the epicenter
Gripping the handles to hold onto dignity
Inhibitions tackled and thrown down the drain
Cleanliness, no longer lives between us
The shower, a whirlpool of emotions...
