listening quietly
while sun shines brightly

the water splash

Through the obstacles in my path 

You brightened the room of my heart
Which was wrapped in the dark

You brought a smile on my face
Something I wasn't familiar with

Your voice was like an angles laugh
That made me forget my frozen part

You made me alive
When I lived a dead man's life

We laughed for minutes and hours
We reveled for days and months

A wind, sharp and cold
Leaves the trees shaven,
Of such colors bold
Yet, in my mind are graven

Come November days
Less sunlight remains, 
Where it stayed and plays
Filtering, as it drains

Through amber waves
Leaving my heart warm,
In my memory saves
Before the first snowstorm 

Be it white by morning 
No more gold and red,
Be it winter's warning 
That autumn is almost dead

Come November nights 
Stiffened by the chill,
The dappled sunlights 
Cling to my soul still.

those tiny hairs
stand erect
at attention on my neck
Eyes darting from
lights undisturbed movement
Gulp almost in audible
under the racing muscles thrum
Noises unnoticed in the sunlights charm
Now bring visages of predestined harm
Dark scurries into shadow
Is there someone there ?
a pause expectant of reply
listening as the sound bounces
and breaks
stranding me in the silence
Floorboards give a gentle rasp
as my sight fumbles in the shadows
does the dark look back...
