Limerick For Sullivan
I paced as the coffee brewed
To one spot Sully stayed glued
"Dad where is my mom?"
She was held in Guam
Because her pug nose was skewed...

Premium Member Sully Had a Dirty Toe
Sully had a downright dirty toe
She scrubbed it ‘til it was aglow.
It shriveled and it coughed.
Then it promptly fell off.
At the end of my marigold row....

People’s reps she would gleefully sully

Portent
This morning dawned
With drab, dismal dread
Portending debouchment
Of unearthly evil:

Yes, fear haunts the air,
So heed me—doom nears!
Oh, witchcraft and spirits
Shall sully our night....

Raw Deal
Sullivano frisked his tail
Folded hands asked for a bail
Judge said " No no"
Sully was raw
Surely, he got a "raw deal"

Helpless Hands
Playing with breezes
you do not understand
Time will discretely arise you
Quietly laughing to yourself
you with your knowing
extending helpless hands
as the shore ascends
you are the drowning man now
Quicksands your sully...

Sully Was Back In the Saddle
Sully* was back in the saddle
up the creek without a paddle
Meenie stole his hat
followed a stout rat
With cookies his hands did meddle

Sully* is Sullivan my pet simian ghost
Meenie is my cat
Both are naughty...

Sullivan Was Sick
Sullivan was sick Oh Meenie played a trick
She kept under his pillow a fresh fish stick
                                        Sully smelled a heaven
                                         Devoured like a raven
And he stretched his legs "Oh I have dropped a brick"...

Sullivan Stole My Dime
Sullivan stole my dime
He was taxed with the crime
                                            In my backyard
                                            My Sully feared

Everything was going for me, I didn’t even know the meaning of the word insecurity and suddenly I am surrounded by words like operation, cancer, chemotherapy, radiation. - Delta Goodrem

Premium Member Rain
A cloudy sky with streaks of grey, filters out the light of the sun. And sprinkles soon sully the day, curtailing any chance of fun. A pelting sound, pommels the ground. Showers morph into a drenching, and water floods gutters and streets. Quenching thirsts in need of quenching, a deluge soon comes down in sheets. Though rain's not bad; it’s often sad.

When Illness Comes
There is no breath only pain
Pain mocking draining down
Down in the sick sully vein
Veins constricting stopping now

When the illness comes...

There is no beat; only pain
Pain maddening searing up
Up in the hearts red veins
Veins constricting stopping now

When the illness comes...

There is life and no more pain
Pain ending stopping now
Now God is graceful in this vein
Veins breathing loving now...

Alcohol Fever
In home bar room,
this place we live,
wolf one down,
and get another hit.
Alcohol fever, you are burning up,
don't you ever get enough?
A sip of wine sometimes I have,
but my mouth stays shut, I don't get loud.
Made of iron, a star you are,
but only after, you visit the bar.
Stinky, and sully, you head for bed,
while mumbling something ugly,
under your breath.
That is fine, do what you gotta do,
this little filly is leaving you....

Harsh Lesson
against my desk I lay my weary head
ailing of sully thoughts.
the prediction of an angry ruler,
a shadow above me.
dreading to rise and face the wrath,
the answer unknown-
or flown to a place of respite.

words boom, resounding,
demanding explanation.
then, a vengeful blow
lands solid upon my back.
bored slumber now gone,
stripped painfully away.

the problem child,
face to face
with harshness,
makes learning
miserable,
instead of wonderment
and joy....
