Die...!
We will revere you ...
We will exalt you ...
We will bury you,
we will forget you,
the day subsequently,
fastly...
Burrrr

January 2015
With innermost thoughts
Now nearing frozen,
I’m left aghast
I can’t put to pen.
Perhaps it’s due
To words I’ve chosen,
I’ll try subsequently
But don’t know when.
Spanish sub-verse song scheme
Seven-eleven strings
Stanza shared successions
Several stunning strips
Streak soliloquy strands
Subsequently stressed sounds
Sung smoothly; serenely

Subsequently designed by decision, your choice is what you have to choose.
Think clear, be thorough and act like the wise person you were born to be.
Mistakes are gathered by the curve ball life throws at you.
Learning from life by the experience gained, creates the person whom you have become today.

My black son
He did not belong
Unwelcome
Unannounced and subsequently
Uninvited
To attend his predominately white Honors math class online
Confirmations abounded
With increasing befuddlement
By the substitute teacher
“Are You Sure?”
By a white classmate
Affirmed
Welcomed
Invited
Permitted to remain
After all
He did belong
My black son

The reactions of people, angry and scared,
say society's teetering on the brink.
Where stubbornness and stupidity are shared;
misinformed ignorance is their common link.
Politics fueled a pandemic with hate
and subsequently sealed their supporters' fate.
Donning a mask and taking the vaccine shot
is how we will beat covid, like it or not.
Chairs in college cafe
Still await our arrival,
Velvety covers on tables
Longing for the spill,
Excited as we cheered !
I remember
Our first meet over
A telepathic invite,
An encounter by design,
For one glimpse,
Came to life,
Subsequently
Meet and greet
Over cups of coffee,
Fresh is the tale
Even after three decades,
Cafe musings !!

Title- cafe musings
As my prayers were carried by the wind,
I cried, and tears pooled deep within my heart.
All the hopes upon which our dreams were pinned;
subsequently started falling apart.
And as anxiety's climb got its start,
I began to feel faith was not enough.
I always knew your passing would be tough:
yet I was devastated when you died.
And I have to admit grief can be rough:
it's constantly tearing me up inside.
There is a certain sad quality
To the overwhelming sensitivity
With which offers much reality
Of course then subsequently
Causing hurt feelings with cruelty
Emitting out such animousity
Against a soul with such frailty
Will cause a certain casualty
With winners left behind spiritually
Cold as a stone internally
And blind as a bat visually
While the fragile soul will soar endlessly
Far, far away from all the negativity
Subsequently
Philosophy constraints contain
Marshon thoughts remain
Could it be buffering
Solace suffering
Deceased referencing
Absolutely
Philosophical deranged terrain
Umbrella broken in the rain
Would be confusing
Constantly losing
So I look refusing
Marshawn thoughts remain
mean philosophy constraints containing

Written words by James Edward Lee Sr
Serendipitous glance across the long room
A hopeful glint seeped into occular womb
A sentient twinkle spun from salient loom
Subsequently, arched brows intent did presume
Spectral light in her lovely irises began to bloom
Radiant beam forthrightly my way did zoom
The lurid flare created a heartfelt sonic boom
The residual glare romantic insights did illume
Lingering, telepathic stare twining desires did groom
Her unyielding focus did my libido consume
Propping up their drooping
Posture on dizzy stools,
Parched lips overly pleased,
Pockets drained of money,
Prisoners of excess
Pander to last resort:
Phew! Pop goes the weasel.*
[*An expression describing the spending of all your money on drink
in the pub and subsequently pawning your suit to raise some more.]

Demands come
Frequently to me;
Dead I’m not
But die suddenly!
It’s a life
On the mundane stage
For getting marry
Subsequently the roses
Dying in processions
Scary, hurry
Before the cawing of the crow
I heard the sound of falling tears
After the sun awakening
All demands become bared
In the sperm of time
Blood pressure pays silence,
Prayer of the third sky
Blind justice at a glance

As I slowly climbed the stairs to bed
discrepant thoughts surge in my head.
For it would not be long before
my bedroom door
would slowly open
As it usually did;
an omen
of what would come.
Hot draughts of rancid breathing,
upon my neck;
which always reeked of beer,
or sometimes stale Darjeeling.
Then, subsequently sated;
It would slowly whisper in my ear;
"Unless you want
I see your little brother too,
Don't you go and tell your mother,
dear."
There is a vine, it is called the vine of life and death.
It is an ancient vine, planted and tended long ago.
The regular trimming leaves a shape like little crosses.
As the ethereal spirit permeates along the living vine.
Though the sign says, "nowhere", the journey produces.
That which withers and dies are subsequently pared away.
For then the fruit is fertile and the wine made is sublime.
And then the process is resurrected over and over again.

Wonderful West Wind was weirdly wildly, wistfully whacky,
Blesiegingly bullied, bustered, boasted, batted both barns and boats
Soothing serene sage serendipitous Sun subsequently surmised
Weird Wind’s bullying behaviors were caused by idiotic insecurities.
Everyone loves you, Sun tried to reassure wild west Wind.
West Wind was indignant and did not believe Sun.
He tried to blow Sun out of the sky, which did not work.
It made West Wind seem weirder, and not half as wonderful.
You are better a divorcee, alive
Than a loyal wife that could not survive
Beating upon beating, arguments thrive.
Over some things, strategic jokes deprive
Of peace, trust issues make loyal days strive.
To cope of what such abuses derive-
How violence subsequently overdrive
Pains more enough than body could revive.
Easily crying for cooling death's drive!
When he was a child,
Lost his mother;
Subsequently, her love.
Didn’t even know fully then,
What a loss it was!
Thenceforth searching for it,
Like a man running after a mirage.
Grew up somehow;
Couldn’t find it until now;
In vain were all his attempts.
Other things in life come by twos and threes…,
In place of mother, one can’t get another.
Mother is love! Love is mother!
