Pubbery

Propping up their drooping
Posture on dizzy stools,
Parched lips overly pleased,
Pockets drained of money,
Prisoners of excess
Pander to last resort:
Phew! Pop goes the weasel.*

[*An expression describing the spending of all your money on drink
in the pub and subsequently pawning your suit to raise some more.]

It's a pity that for some there is no will power when it comes to drink! Food and drink in moderation is something to stick to. Thank you for stopping by, Judy. Regards & Blessings // paul

Quite rich in the details "drooping posture on dizzy stools" << great visuals! I've tried to enjoy going to the bars (or pub), but I'm too much of a home-body. I enjoy a few drinks, but with the smaller crowd, in the comfort of my own home. Best of luck on the contest. PS. I've heard "pop goes the weasel" all my life but I never knew what it meant (I always assumed it was some kind of innuendo, but apparently not).

Thank you for the insightful feedback, Timothy. Like you I don't frequent bars and would rather have a drink in a quiet atmosphere...like that there is no danger of us having to pawn our clothes. ~ Best regards, my friend. // paul

Thank you, Tom. To be honest I'd have preferred to call it "Pub Crawling", but the title can't consist of 2 words, so opted for Pubbery instead :) ~ Regards // paul
