Premium Member Ode To My Stepmother
I was robbed! She said
Every brain in my head!
They came in the night
Stole my gray matter bright

I had nothing to add
as she is quite mad
a woman big and bad
who married my dad...

Modern Cinderella
Attracted by the last episode
Sat by the fireplace
Laziness
Crawled up her back
Daydreaming
Once upon a time ……
The wicked boss
Just like the stepmother
Made her work strenuously
She prayed to meet
A rich and handsomeman one day
One day...

Premium Member A Tricky Situation
A combined family.
A tricky situation.
One I have managed to avoid and gladly

I have no idea how they do it.
Each thinking the other one’s children
are spoiled.

Keeping their mouths shut
or worse, taking over too soon.
A tricky situation.
One I have gladly avoided...

For You, Stepmother
You Entered My Life
So Many Years Ago.

Another Woman Was Found
In My Father’s Heart.

Many Struggles Were Ahead
So Scared Was I, Uncertain Were you.

The Greatest Friend
I Never Knew I Needed.

The Strength You Possess,
That You Willingly Shared.

Another Hole I Was Unaware
Is No Longer There!...

she walked in again
flesh dripping off her face
her mouth a fixed silent scream

I look at the others
do they not see an upright dead corpse?
do they not smell her?

I cannot eat this food now.
my stepmother gets angry
I think of what I could do to her.
where to begin?

The knife block beckons.
I look around for my dad.
It won’t be any good if someone saves her....

Premium Member Russian Zolushka
Cindy was chased from her home
by an evil stepmother
she felt sad and alone

a light snow began
it lightened her mood
she liked the crystal flakes

a Russian castle appeared
it felt wonderful
Was it a mirage?

Faerie godmother congratulated herself
Poof.
She was clothed now in a gorgeous red velvet gown.

Curls glanced across her back, making her feel elegant.
Handsome czar ran out to meet …
the zolushka of his dreams....

Premium Member Prince Charming Is Not Coming
Not sure when I first realized
Prince Charming was not coming.
Probably when I was working in the grocery store.

I guess I was slow to give up my dream
Of the handsome Prince Charming discovering me
And whisking me away to his castle

Gone was the emerald encrusted eighteen carat gold crown
But luckily, I would not have to leave Snow White or Cinderella
Behind and die young so a stepmother could come along
So that was good. Right?...

Ida
(Dedicated to Ida Greene who died July 5, 2008.)

Ida was her name and she was my mom's former stepmother.
For eighteen months she helped take care of Mom, her sister and her brothers.
She taught my mom how to milk a cow.
I hate to say that she is dead now.
She's being buried today and her family is feeling remorse.
She kept my Granddad's last name after they got a divorce.
She passed away yesterday at the age of ninety-five.
She was a kind and good person while she was alive....

Premium Member maybe they are all mad
murder happened back in 1892, so it's not like relatives are still mad, right?
But maybe they are all mad in Falls River, Maryland
Maybe they were always mad
Maybe Lizzie Borden was not even the culprit
All we know is
that someone has taken the head of this statue
a statue of one of the most famous
"maybe a female murderess" in the USA
Lizzie Borden.
What date was the head taken? Someone asked me.
August the 4th, same date as the murdrers
of Lizzie's father and stepmother in 1892....
