this static quiet...

stagnantly 
fills my space 
silently
the air hangs
dense and muted
my fingers type
numb floating

appendages

rest slightly bent
motionless
hurt dripping off
the tips deferred
now adjourned

another tortured
soul
suspended
in
time

baited breath

fluttering hearts

And shoulders tilted like balances offset




But who sees it coming

All hear whispers and sees not the mouth

Til the clock stops ticking and

the cuckoo flies its nest

And like strangers we stare

Bewildered and unsure; uncertain

Of all surrounding

Eyes stagnantly defiant

Unmoved, we wait....
