Mice

A Scotsman's daughter named Nelly
drew pictures of mice on her belly.
That night in a dream
she squeaked out a scream
and woke with a tail in New Delhi.

Fiddlesticks

There was a young man bought a pangolin
but thought it was a mandolin
to be played like a violin
he tipped its scales 'til they creaked
tweaked its tail so it squeaked
and named the bow Anne Bowleyn

Refurbished Nursery Rhymes: 3 Blind Mice

or...Where's the SPCA when you need 'em?

A farmer's wife who was not very nice
Mutilated a trio of disabled mice.
Each squeaked for its life
As she wielded her knife
And disencumbered them all of their tails in a trice.

Proposal Dominique

Yo,
oblique
Dominique,
doublespeak dove,
with geek’s technique, you squeaked whispers of love.

Wise advice from well-seasoned whippoorwill.
Fulfill your thrill,
a trained trill
can still
angst.

My Hamster

When I got my hamster,
I was really happy.
I couldn't keep my happiness in.
I loved my hamster
As much it can be loved
She looked at me,
She squeaked at me!
I named her little Laila!
I kept her, and gave her love!

I Won

Brave,
Raved.

Cowards,
caved.

Weak,
squeaked.

Strongs,
Hit with a bang.

Wise,
won the dice.

Fools,
Were winding wool.

I was none to full,
But a little of each I did pull,
I did as they did- none,
But a little,
but still won.

Christmas Eve

When Simon fell asleep on Christmas Eve.
Dreaming of presents that Santa would leave.
He soon stirred, when his door squeaked.
Open- eyed, as floorboards creaked.
Now he knows Santa, is not make-believe.

Acrostic Agility Poetry Contest

Paws on the windowsill, waiting for me
Ears perked up at the jingle of keys
Treats disappear with lightning speed

Dirt on the floor, but I don’t mind
Over and over, he’s one of a kind
Goofy grin, tongue out, tail wagging behind

Torn-up bear, stuffing all around
Once his favorite, now battle-worn and brown
You’d think it still squeaked by the way he pounces down

Of Respect

Sweetheart, a cerebral woman I respect
Enchanted by her month when all life awakes
Smiles from childhood lovingly resurrect
Morning dew, tulip scent, warm days, birthday cake

Italian squeaked from mom, in exciting tone
Delay the kisses and gifts till Dad gets home
Sweetheart- unwraps bows in absolute rapture
Yearly this feeling she attempts to capture!

Love you my Sweetheart-

A. Green

Young At Heart

I swept the cinders from the hearth
clambake soot billowed veils
of a past where frequent refuge sought
the path that never pales.
Eyes of mine, their apples cored,
pips blackly shone and squeaked;
with laughing tears trickling,
the moistened lustre leaked.
Young at heart, you twinkle bright
a gem in memories of grey,
a fire to ignite my life,
a light to guide the way...

MOUSE HOUSE

MOUSE HOUSE* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In my shoe, I found quite a sight, a small mouse, with fur soft and light. He twitched and he squeaked, as I gasped and I freaked, Then we both took off running in fright! *This poem is written in memoriam and dedicated to the field mouse who mistakenly decided our garage would be a cool place to wait out summer's heat.

There was a wheel that squeaked Not a sound in the world like it My senses were surely peaked Drove me crazy, gave me a fit The air in the tires leaked No piece of it worked, not a bit The whole bike when moved creaked I could do nothing but come sit Sound of the wheel sure freaked So I got off my bike and quit

Chickabiddy and Hillbilly Had a Walk

Chickabiddy and hillbilly had a walk
Along Whisky Road which was made of rock
on a summers day
way back in May
Followed by Sammy a curious hawk.

Sammy steered them to a gorgeous flock
Of lambs who began to mew and squawk
Chickabiddy squeaked
Hillbilly shrieked
Wishing they had never come round this block

Five policemen were called which was a shock
One of them said this truly is a crock
Hillbilly turned red
Chickabiddy dead
And their bodies were soon outlined in chalk
