Since the worn out
knee should be replaced,
I have no doubt,
in fact, I’ve squarely faced:
not a snowball’s chance in hell
going skiing would go too well....

The Responsibility To Please
At last here I sit
Squarely in the limelight
The gallery is at peace
With a tad bit tension
Longing for ease
And it falls upon my shoulders
The responsibility to please...

Thank you

for daring
to confront my wary
with steadfastness scary

Insight
Indelible the writing…
each theme enslaves the words
The weight placed squarely on their backs
to bear the message heard

The meaning what’s important
four ruling two plus two
Verbs forgotten, nouns erased
—their insight still imbued

Unnamed
There is a place where young man are standing at the edge
holding their sorrows like a badge squarely on their chests,
staring bleak into the darkness of the night,
looking for the strength to do what's right....
They have been looking here before,
they have failed to find the answers they were looking for......

Western Front
When the One that you want shares the wanting-you-too,
The decision falls squarely, unfairly on you.

The Man That You Love, or Unexpectedly There?
Who's promised more love than the former will spare.

Do you wait in the shadows, grasp at faith in the future?
Or find your frail heart a more Suitable Suitor?...

Premium Member Golden Locks, Eyes of Blue
His rainment bleak
   Snarls of hair matted
Bloated shoes mud-streaked
   Wisps of hair unhatted

Muttered imprecations
   Hiding teeth jagged
A bedraggled skeleton
   Cursing Nature, near-ragged

Those with golden locks
   and eyes of deep blue
Face the mirror squarely
Could his image have been you?...

No difference
Singing sweetly and peacefully!
Although the lyrics are squarely of pain.
Every night I close my eyes calmly!
Although I know the morning is simple and plain.

Seasons change and giving up slowly!
Just left behind with harmless rain.
Neither the doors nor windows open, surely!
Looking for a war because I am fain....

Premium Member The Courtship of Lacey and Jakey
Written by Gail DeBole on August 16, 2017

Lacey the turtle fell flat on her back.
She landed squarely.
Her shell did not crack.

Jakey the turtle became her green knight.
With his gentle nudge
She again was upright.

After that, Jakey would not leave her side
Making sure Lacey stayed upright.
She became Jakey’s bride....

Motivation
My motivation for leaving rests squarely on your faithless shoulders
it's your flippant smile, your quiet disregard
the devalued way you make me feel
It's the many nights spent alone resting my head on your lies
the callousness of your hands, the chill of your touch
sending shivers down my spine
finally the goodbye you won't say...

Premium Member Unravel To Exhale
We place a lot of pressure squarely on our shoulders
Raising the bar on repeat feels like carrying boulders

Stakes set stubbornly high but can lower to find a clue
By broadening out our view to see the strain is undue

Realize the rigor we apply isn't required in every situation
Unwinding tension that was a figment of our imagination...

He struggles to look truth in the eye squarely
And complains about being treated unfairly

"Witch hunt! No collusion!", he cries
I think he truly believes his own lies

An Image
clearly
looking through the fog i see it
clearly
i picture the image of me
walking tall
confident
swaying my hips
and licking my lips tempting myself
to look forward
Squarely my eyes become one with me
slipping me the eye of approval
checking my view
enjoying the sight of might
stomping out that ego...
all feminine
pure estrogen
hmmm...looky looky looky here... :-)...

Premium Member My Mindless Dream Dance
Charisma wafts into my dreams
Teasing my wise brain dendrites
Showing them connections
to my pathway toward empathy.

Enthusiasm is squarely winning
Taking charge of my artistic muse
who is persuasive with other
areas of my mindful schemata

Childlike joy shows rapt interest
in the affection charisma is instilling
as I sleep, listening to the lively,
loving melody of the cosmos...

Front Teeth Will Be Lost
Let me tell you what it will cost,
If you try to Richard accost:
Two of your front teeth shall be lost,
Straight two artificial teeth cost...

Interest in flashing arch smiles lost,
From time to time his dad accost
To show him what The Thing had cost.

I'm surprised at what thou dost
And at times feel squarely lost:
All the time wanting to raise dust;
All the time a combat, a must....

When the Master Calls
When The Master Calls
An answer all must give
While standing before His presence
Giving an account of how we lived

As He begin to look
Us squarely in our eyes
Telling us how we let
This life just pass us by

That's when we remember
The times we heard His voice
Speaking to our heart
About a Godly choice

At that very moment
We'll begin to stall
While pleading for forgiveness
When the Master calls....

You Can Win
If you want to achieve it,
You just have to believe it
But remember-Rome
Wasn’t built in a day.
You’ve got to go to it,
Have faith you can do it
And keep all those doubts at bay.
Take disappointments
Squarely on the chin.
Don’t be discouraged
DON’T GIVE IN -
Rome wasn’t built that way.
But with courage through
Trial and tribulation
You can reach a point
Of celebration
And so have your victory day....

On My Suicidal Husband
I cannot fight the dead
Or those that want to die

I cannot will you to life
Or happiness

And I have no desire to be
The keeper of your fate

That I lay squarely at your feet

Choose to go or choose to stay

Life is a dance to be lived
But only by those who hear the music

Dance lover dance

And when the music fades
Take your exit as you please

For I cannot fight the dead
Or those that want to die...

Last night
I slept
or tried to
despite sharp elbows and knees
and hopelessly dark intrusive shoulders

In concerted effort
to squash me
into a round flat stanley
gingerbread manface

Squarely soft
like a just-right nutritious blanket
of good ginger smells
nurturing his palsied elbows
and lumpy knees,
bumpy shoulders
and frumpy mind

Sleeping peaceful innocence
unvowed

No nightmare seizures allowed....

The Blind In Streets
To The Begging Blind
Be squarely kind:
The ones walking our streets lined
But also those doing it singly
And sort of acting kingly!

The Blind also battling with a limp
And The Ones who seem A Pimp,
Never them to a halt grind
Nor to a spot with stories bind;
In their front leading, not behind
Their guide pretend you’d signed
And their alms release like one fined …

With The Begging Blind
Deal with an open mind....

Conserving Energy For Punishment
My energy I conserve,
Not for the guests seats
I have yet to reserve
Nor for their paid meat
I should carefully preserve…
Squarely for the nice treat
My boys deserve.

Their negligence I’ve grasped
And at it gasped
And hands of shock clasped!

Now, my voice to be a rasp
And my sting that of a wasp:
Welts to on skin break out,
Pain-enduring lips pout;
In drug stores no liniment
For their energy-backed punishment....

Rambling On Mincing With Words

chop, cut the small words
don’t mince words; say what you mean
I don’t understand

speak clear and candid
there were plenty of poets
mincing beyond doubt

blunt and outspoken
tell what you really think
squarely and frankly

vodka ,rum , bourbon
mincing them all together
sick the next morning

playing with words - why
lawless is confusing as ?
as fools we believe
