Golden Locks, Eyes of Blue

His rainment bleak
   Snarls of hair matted
Bloated shoes mud-streaked
   Wisps of hair unhatted

Muttered imprecations
   Hiding teeth jagged
A bedraggled skeleton
   Cursing Nature, near-ragged

Those with golden locks
   and eyes of deep blue
Face the mirror squarely
Could his image have been you?

'Poetry' is already 'a level,' esp. for me. 'True/Truth' is an even higher level. So, 'true poetry?' ---Bobby, you have made my day, my friend!! Thank you so much. Best wishes, Gershon

Reincarnation...could have been...no one knows all of their past lives and karma really does do its job.

Beauty in the eye of the beholder here: Finally (!) one of my poems 'worked!' I'm so thrilled, THRILLED, by your comment, as I hadn't thought of reincarnation at all when I wrote it. I look up to poets whose writing can be interpreted different ways---and now I've written a poem like that. Without your comment I wouldn't have known. So, I owe you! Blessings, Gershon

Nice description. Particularly fond the last verse. A deep pointed question.
