Men always remember Molly
The girl with the lethal brolly
Get near her skirt
Or try to flirt
And its back to Hello Dolly!
Jack and Jill went up the hill,
Social distancing was forgotten,
Jill came down with Covid 19,
We wish they had been smarter!
A rogue mosquito wasn't practicing
the fine art of social distancing
so with one vicious wallop
I painted a Jackson Pollock
and hung it in my art gallery
What are reindeer antlers for
Fighting other reindeer causing gore
Really anti-social
Social distancing tonal
Still need to stock their fridges I'm sure
making whoopie while social distancing
a most magical and wondrous feat
but you must have a long tool
or become the town fool
as you plead with and stretch out your weenie
To prevent us from killing one another
social distancing is a wonderful idea
but it should be six miles
instead of six feet
until we learn how to listen
and respect one another-
The age of social distancing, rife with existential angst and discontent.
People with cabin fever break quarantine, take to the streets to vent.

Listen to poem:
cold winter less welcome now than ever
forecasting blizzards of sterile social distancing
severe self isolation within frigid landscapes
snow conditions perfect for monk's celibacy

I speed-dial her again: “Flatten the curve,
O muse - I’m dry from social distancing.”
“Abundance of caution”, she says. The nerve!
I press redial. “Please, help me write! Dance! Sing!”
Alas, my muse is self-isolating.

Alone with my thoughts
Ideating solutions of all sorts
The best one will surely out
The rest, the judges will rout
They call it Design thinking
What happened to team working?
Gone with SARS-Cov 2 proliferation
Social distancing without moderation
Does wearing a mask make you ill?
Are you a social distancing hater?
Then imagine how you'd feel
Being put on a ventilator

Enjoy music with tonic and gin
social distancing is now no sin
avoid a shake of hands
virus lurks in the lands
you step out, corona will move in.
Time to take a chill pill and ponder
and gaze into the wide blue yonder
separate need from greed
else nature make us bleed
and mankind may have far to wander.

Bogged down at a red light.
At Ascension cemetery and St. Mary's drive.
I gazed at a graveside service.
The mourners spaced few and far between.
Mostly in black and still as wet granite.
All were COVID-masked... properly.
The newly departed performed social distancing-flawlessly.
My prayer was answered when the light turned halo green.
Sobriety is the key,
The missing key all these years,
Covid-19 has taught us moderation,
Muted celebrations,
No scale, pomp or extravagance,
No more crowds,
An uncertain world,
Covid-19 made us rethink,
Social distancing is happening,
Minimalist approaches,
In today’s toxic environments,
We need to come together,
For a better shared future.
Lucifer laughs
gloating about the pandemic
loving our anguish
Keeping us apart
trying our patience
miscommunication and misunderstandings
Reveling in our sorrow
And our social distancing
Lucifer thinks he is winning
Not understanding our resiliency
Underestimating our spiritual prowess
Not seeing our faith, misreading the power of prayer
The red glow of sunrise paints the sky
Families gather as candle light flickers nearby
The ANZAC Service echoes from place to place
This year’s Dawn Service shared in sad grace
The virus has its say on us everyday
Whilst social distancing is our way
Driveway services weaving us together
As the Last Post plays in their memory forever.

Social Distancing
There is fear
Planted by closeness..
By warnings posted in
The world without..
Closeness they say
Will be sharing of a
Microscopic terrorist
Lurking in our breath
Poised to leap when
The distance is right..
Is this admonition
Begging a turn inward to
Locate that place
Which is not a place
Where distance dissolves
In a newfound Calm...?
Social Distancing - COVID 19
If
YOU don't get it
When
You GET it
Then
You'll get IT.
Get it?
Pushups and planks
Now armpits stank.
Roping and jumping
Outdoors I'm loving
Kicking and punching
Tension and stress I'm releasing
Netflix on house arrest
Sunshine and fresh air, I confess
Kissed by the sun
Just vying for some fun
Social distancing
Nature I'm embracing
Mellifluous birds I hear
Living with no fear
Quarantine commanding
God's word, I'm standing
flower buds had now begun to bloom
long cold winter was eager to depart
air was pregnant with aroma, perfume
romance was about to fill each heart
but a villain virus did us apart
we ran for cover, forgetting the spring
coloured beauty of flowers got a sting
for "beauty lies in eye of beholder"
eye was forced to do social distancing
spring went by giving a cold shoulder.

Cell phone plays a familiar tune
I glance toward my husband
Yours he says.
I do not answer
Not one to run toward a phone
Phone announces it is our daughter
She rarely calls
I walk toward the phone
Possibly getting it on the last ring
She is on her way over to visit
Good news.
Maybe social distancing is over?
She is our trained epidemiologist.
Not on our life.
She came over to caution me
To stay home
Lockdown has forced us to stay home for long
I cannot play golf but can eat and sleep
Social distancing wants us not to throng
No one understands that my pain is deep
Need to practice my swings for their upkeep
No play may retard muscle memory
Making me lose golfing trajectory
Coronavirus, why you give such pain!
Golfing time wasted on cleaning bag accessory
Checking your spread though is a vital gain.

In this time of social distancing, we must remain in contact
with our circle of family and friends, for isolation is not kind.

FRIENDSHIP WINGS INK
Friend’s visage speaks of ordinary things.
Port-kindness face-to-face and double clean.
An extraordinary visit on screen —
this magic butterfly with friendship wings.
