The brightest song I have ever sung
The sweetest picture ever I drew
In all the worlds and visions among
were the merest sketches of
beautiful you.

Stand Firmly Your Ground

tempos and rhythms
opening lines penned
sketches from yesterday
swirl random memories within
stirring from the silence,I awake
poured out into a sound
be planted as roots to a tree
stand firmly your ground

ARTIST NATURE

     Pretty patterns painted and drawn.
Promise of crimson sunrise at dawn.
     Colourful sketches in bright twilight
shown on sky album in delight.
Artist Nature to dream and yawn.

The artist sees things others miss
He sketches the skyline onto a canvas
People pass by
No one looks at his drawing

Do they not see me? He wonders
Will they ever see me?
He dies wondering.
Becoming famous two hundred years after his death.

Love Mad

Mr. Sunshine said I'm his mistress
But now I'm in distress.
Oh! I was his beloved ,
Now he act as if we never loved.
They call me evil as I've bulged pupil.
My sketches seems so bad and my words say I'm sad.
Fact is that I wasn't bad but I was a love mad!

Sam

Sam,
A man,
A good man
Is now tainted
We judge by the shallow sketches painted;

In the crimson, pallid, and cobalt dream,
The devil scheme,
A mean plan.
God bless …
Sam

Male,
A sex,
A pretext.
Man is a lie.
Behind closed doors great heroes often cry.

WINTER SKETCHES

winter’s got me down
drifts of snow have turned dirty
sunlight doesn’t help
but a sudden spring rustle
this swooping pair of blue jays…

tow’ring backyard tree
upward far as i can see
a look – i’m dizzy
then chattering brings me round
tiny feet on frozen ground

Moonbeam splits the somber cloud
sketches shimmering silver lines
satin sky holds the light in delight.
On the crest of waltzing waves
fluid pearls enwrap pieces of moon
sea sends the sparkle to the shore.

Ze French, they are haughty
    Kremlinites, vulgar, crude

Brits keep a stiff upper lip

Premium Member Shadows Are Rather Stiff

Listen to poem:
Shadows are stiff
hard-edged,
all telling,
not fibbing
nor forgiving.
The mind's eye is blind
to the shadowy-side
we carry in ruck-sacks behind
our backs.
Shadows are brutally honest,
dark and gloomy,
sketches of self in outline,
that we would rather lose
'cause they can't be
colored in.

waters of life on pages

Vivid sketches,
a parade
of resemblances,
canvas afloat
before my eyes:
expressionist
impressionist
abstractions
locked forever
in time:
the familiar,
the muddled or
befuddled
inventive
imaginings
before me file,
to stay awhile
and truncate my day:
I contemplate
and marvel
the many things
to me they say

Feline Sketches

tiger ... unseen in the bush
golden black stripes ominous
beauty, ferocious!

          panther ... sinuous, jet-black
          moonlit shadows on a bough
          emerald eyes know!

lion ... basking in the sun
                      idling maned predator
                      the tawny terror!

Day 3
TODAY

Today old history
Sketches the last story
Bid farewell so sadly

Today mournful lines rhyme
Verse fragments in lost chimes
Echoes in stray space-time

Today a great soul brief
Who forged a new belief
Left us to a new grief

Mystic Mind Moaning

mystic mind moaning
voluptuous veins vying
hoisted heats hankering
squeezing salient sanity
girding gaunt ice
veiled by vice

hollow joints jangling
eerie echo smirking
felon fun flickering

drooling darkness dances
drooping over vices;
salient silhouettes sketches

on and on
smeared space gnawl.
