Premium Member Leaky Plumbing

I thought I had shut off the leak:
the drip, both lethargic and weak.
Once parched dry from thirst,
the pipes have now burst,
and the muse has decided to speak.

A Beautiful Curse

Lights shut off welcoming intrusive thoughts,
Something that was mine was lost.
You didn't know that I was waiting behind the wall,
While I see you fix the last brick to end all ties once and for all.

The Rent Is Past Due

Drinking my morning cold coffee, they shut off the gas
In a dim light reading yesterday's paper for today's news, got it at a good price
Cannot buy a job and the rent is past due

There once was an off-key raccoon

Joined a feat and barked out of tune,

   Since he groaned aloud

   The pissed judges cowed

As he won to shut off this loon!

Lady In Sunrise

Baby sunlight basked on her face
Darkness afraid to engulf her fully
The winds could not alter her beauty
Grasses swayed in awe of her
Her steepish smile locked eyes in
And shut off sadness
Look out for the lady in the sunrise
She's there to make your day

Quintuple Clam

here she is spoke out
doubt settling inside

here she is sharing
caring what they think

here she is waiting
rating the slow time

here she is again
penned in a type font

here she is alone
phone ringer shut off

here she is, a clam
damn, there she goes, gone

Without You

Without you, I'm barely living.
Without you, the lights shut off in this town
and in my head.
Without you, the Stars stop burning and the sky is
dressed with a black curtain.
Without you, who am I?
You're more than just that person...
You're everything that surrounds me.

Broken Reflection

Here I stand, a broken reflection of my troubled past.
Can you feel the tension of my shadows' constant grasp?
Hands around my throat, mine behind my back.
Voices begging to be heard, while I'm trying to shut off a racing mind.
I will break free from these chains inherited the moment I came into this life

Premium Member Lightening

Lightening illuminating the sky
It’s beautiful yet gives a fright
Going to shut off my pc
Hoping it won’t shock me
Thundering a sound that booms
Effecting me jumping across room
Neon night with rain in tow
I wonder about the birds are they cold
Not one bird complains for
God takes care of them I’m sure

Give Me Love

Love was elusive
Most of my life
Then love came
One Cupidian night

Its constant now
Will always be
Won’t be shut off
By her
or
By me

Now...

Hate’s been elusive
So far
&
So good
It’s ok with me
And well understood

For hate
Like love
Always will be
Can’t be shut off
That’s just not for me

Inner Critic

Within without inside out screaming
The pain is unbearable you beasty twit
If you would just lose a leg or an arm

Crippled down bunched up dreaming
Your back is like a rack of ribs on a spit
Shut off this awful belly juggling alarm

Turn up turn out cantankerous filled brain
Take a damn load off before you faint

2am

It's 2am in the morning
and even though i'm tired
my mind just can't shut off
it's like it's been rewired!

my body feels the energy
slowly falling still
but my mind is somewhere else
It's awake against my will.

I forgot to take the tablet
that sings my mind to sleep
so until tomorrow evening
I guess i'll just count sheep!

Final

I'm glad i've known love
sad it was never received
mad I wasted my time
thinking you where the one
you stabbed in the back
more then once and
it's my own fault
I let you twist and play me
like a puppet trust me
I'll never make the same
mistake twice
time to shut off my heart
and listen to my head
you'll never trap me again
goodbye for the final time

Icy

I shut you out
can't get back in
No talking
No touching
No nothing

I shut down completely
can't hear you
No sound
No words
No nothing

I shut off emotions
can't feel anymore
Nothing cut
Nothing broken
Nothing

So cold
my heart pumps ice cubed
and snow cones
grace my veins
I'm sorry
no one lives here
jut the ice that
was there before!

Requiem of the Rising Sun: March 29

My angry words
Half choked out in the hot mist
Are lost in the torrential downpour.
They hit the rood of iron clouds
I am shut off from all you are.

My soul’s broken pieces scream
Tears leak from my heart
Which was smash between rocks when the
            Earth shook
            Buildings fell
Sea rose and terrorized your precious ants.

The Secret

Dabbing cologne on my body
I smell him enter the room.
The night lights shut off
and his thought becomes
the shadows that move.

His hand guides mine
and I feel his warm touch
returning to me once more
in the darkness to love me.

I call to him softly
and he answers I am here,
his breath felt as I exhale.
This is the secret I share,
my love dwells in silence.

Death of a Muted Heart

I muted my Heart. To shut off my Brain. I did it all. To numb the Pain. Why Love, when it Hurts. Why Feel, when it Burns. My Soul Bleeds. My Stomach Churns. My Blood runs Cold. My Breath Dies. Why should I Grow Old? My Time moves Slow. Why won't it Hurry. The Lights Fade. My Vision is Blurry. Why Sleep? It Never Ends. I Awake. To Die Again.
Form: Rhyme

Nothing Personal

I refuse
Refuse
To let
This
Bring me
Over an edge
I'm not ready to
Jump

Numb cores
Numb hands
Maybe I'm
Not sane

I refuse
Refuse
To use
Some
Kind of
Excuse
I'd rather
Just shut off
And not talk
To any of you

Numb chest
Numb mind
Maybe I'm
Not sane

I refuse
Refuse
To become
What is not
Me
I can't change
Everything
So I'll just shut up
And steam

Placed

I simplify it in my mind..i can pretend its not real,
I can shut off my emotions..i can seperate to heal,
I can love you with sincerity and walk away,
I will protect your heart..and you'll never know that i did,
I can see the bigger picture..the pieces align,
I keep it tucked away..its not my place to define,
And as it unfolds...i quietly see,
That your heart is ultimately more important to me.

Inside These Barrack Walls

Cumbersome,
Shut off from the world around you,
Trying to escape the deceit.

Apathetic,
Knowing that you can’t hide from it,
Accepting the pain as your own.

Ambivalent,
Should I create or destroy,
Trapped in an endless sea of hypocrisy.

Imprisoned,
Looking at the walls around you,
Trying to pry the cement from your cell bars.

Exhaustion,
Too broken to get yourself back up,
And too jaded to care.

Michigan Man, 93, Freezes To Death

Why, the old man froze to death
fingers and toes burning,
a slow, painful death, the coroner
says; the neighbors say they tried,
the city never lies, they will shut off
service of essential services,
and so life goes. Why,

the old man froze to death
huddled in double layers.
He’s not alone this season,
‘tis a freezing season, three
reports this week. I reckon
we’re not civilized enough
to have heat for everyone.

SOS

Say something;
your silence scars my skin,
shatters my soul,
strains my skull,
stretches out my suffering and
snowballs my syndrome.

Out loud;
your opinion is not obvious,
openness not optional,
obligation not obsolete,
only your opposition to the occasion is
orchestrating this onslaught.

Speak;
I scream and shout,
shriek and screech,
sob and solicit,
still, you stay shut-off and silent and
strike me speechless, too.

The Look of Lost Love

Eyes reaching to you
I see you’re lost
Dried tear drops upon your face
Looking though empty space

My hand reaching to you
Wanting to touch your soul
I see no light in your eyes
Shut off emptying out your soul

Dazed with dried tears on a pillow
Wondering why
Songs of tragedy are all you hear
Wanting just one glimpse of light

Offers of love turned away
Not taking any more chances
Alone in this room of misery
Wanting just to be alone
