Seven Deadly Sins

My heart has become it's own person
My heart beats on just to torture my aching mind
Everyday my heart tricks my mind into
playing a game of the seven deadly sins,
My mind fails every time.

Cloaking the soul with venom

lust

to see and admire
one time is human nature
innocently done

to look again with
desire is lustful intent
the start of a sin

One of the seven deadly sins-

the one named Greed can't be outdone,

with selfish goals and swindled wins

that please a cheap, self-centered one!

Fools are those who let

emotions overwhelm them,

and those who simmer in rage,

are among the worst,

for murder often is born

from this deadliest of sins.

Covetousness

Longing to possess
belongings of fellowman.
Perfidious unseen want
enrobed in sweetness.
Treachery rooted deep down.
Stealing begins in the heart.

The sin of Envy-
   a sin of self-indulgence

53-Word Poem

I desire the great things of the world. But pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony, and sloth cloud my vision of the future and distract me from what matters most. The seven deadly sins are based upon being self-serving. But is it a sin if they serve your peers and children of God?

ANGER

this unkind rude world
trying to taking you on
blazes the fire of anger
mind a volcano
before it turns into ash
smoke of revenge chokes your life
douse the fire within
with tolerant forgiveness
virtue of divinity.

(In the Buddhist realm, the five poisons are similar to the Seven Deadly sins that lead us to or keep us in suffering mode. They are; Desire, Anger, Aversion, Delusion and Envy. Others include, Ignorance, Pride, Jealously and Hate.

Pride

Pride one of the seven deadly sins
Where did it start
When will it end???

Can one say, "I LOVE YOU"
and not feel weak?
Does it take an certain knid of knowlegde
or maybe just technique???

I have no answers to these questions
nor if it's even taught,
I do know this much
that it's worse than any cancer that people often caught!!!

My 7 Sins

I'm Guilty of my Pride,
and Gluttony of Lust.
Envious of my Sloth of Wraith,
these seven I do trust.
I've built the walls I live within,
of my seven deadly sins,
Without a thought if they will stop,
all I knows that they've begin.
To take a toll upon my soul,
has if it even matters.
Sin is sin the course of men,
death shall surely follow...

Premium Member Gluttony

ghastly gluttony

one of seven deadly sins
with appalling good reasons

total self disrespect
abusing one's own body
that wonderful mechanism

no remorse no thought
millions starving and dying

balancing haves and have nots

==============================

out back of the barn
I watch you hitch a wagon

to the fine draft mare
your last harvest bought

'tis I would be behind her,
had I seen her first
(and had I a cart)

while you travel in comfort,
I ruin my good feet

why should she be yours??

Provoking Ire

Ah Anger! One of the seven deadly sins
A scourge that ravages the mind of man,
Alas! In an imperfect world only evil wins
A tiny spark consumes the forest in fire,
Peace prevails when he reins in his ire.

So why would I look back in anger
to recall with woe my wandering past?
No, I’ll not go there to find an answer;
Now my future must dawn with a new hope
before my time reaches the end of the rope.

Animalistic in behavior

                    seeded by hungers need

deep within the confines of your body

                     dangerous wild attraction

                   banged into my twisted mind

                   pleading for my own release.

Sloth

sin so seemingly harmless
offending no one
sloth hides behind selfish smiles
feigning pain or pitiful
preening and purring
inside it acquiesces
accepting of assistance
sighing it lays back
secure in the knowledge
others will carry its load
it is the knowing
which renders it so deadly

Covid19

You're Pandemic, You're Pandemic.
Your Infection grows an expiration.
You have come from Wuhan.
And have destroyed All Jahan.
O Man! Your seven deadly Sins.
Ah! Allah has given you a comeuppance.
Because of your Avarice.
You became a bad choice.
Oh man! your lust
Giving you a dust!
O Man! You showed your ignorance.
And Almighty Allah showed His violence!
This Corona has only one solution.
That's do pray with a passion.

Numbers of love

A night slipped away,
one wept to sleep, one had bunches to dream.
A couple of lines the poet wrote,
nothing that the muse saw.
Three simple words kept the lovelorn up,
four texts sent for a clueless hope.

If love has numbed five senses,
then the sixth one will be gifted.
The seven deadly sins, hunger for love could be all.
The ninth day of forlornness ate the soul up,
isn’t it already a punishment?
Perhaps the love in October was forever a torment.

The Seven Deadly Sins

I’m never proud of me, but I couldn’t be more proud of you
I’ve lost myself again, but what if finding me takes losing everything else, too?
I’ve never wanted anything more than to reach out and feel your touch
That will never happen because I’m not her, and it pains me so much
I’ll sit in this glutinous span of greed and desire
While my feelings turn from desperation to you burning alongside me in the fire
And I give up, because what is there left on this earth for me?
