SEPIA SEA
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
in sepia waves,
echoes of laughter linger
time’s tide pulls me back
faded photographs,
memories in sepia sea
love captured in light
I hold your pillow tight and wonder where you are
perhaps the moon has borrowed you for light
Yesterday is here showing me your sepia smile
and like a glitter star you fill my lonely night
Postcards~
tattered, old, creased;
Chiaroscuro landscapes;
Reminiscence of a story~
First love.
I repent of loss No control when beauty takes it's oversight of me
edges a bit frayed,
creases deeply set
....in sepia sadness
limpid pools
overgrown
…in unkempt wildness
reflect
a subtle glow
…of love’s permanence
familiar paths
slow faded
…into now
faces unafraid
creases deeply set
…in sepia sadness
The last of September sits quietly beside me
There's still warmth in my hands here brushing fingers with Demeter, basking in the Indian summer
but Im ready for my darkness
The hush of Earth in October
Let the fiery sun and his gods of war sleep
Bring the cold and damp to silence their flames that have been burning much to brightly
Bring us
our peace
Spend your days in black and white
Day dream away in sepia
Reminisce of yesteryear
And nostalgia bleeds from you
You've locked the door and lost the key
I know you'll never let me in
I kept on knocking 'til my hands bled dry
Who is that stranger in your skin?
And rain falls harder every day
I need to find a place to sleep
I searched for shelter in my dreams
But even they had turned on me
Form:
Sunglass water pails
The cover up, never fails
Draining water from her
Heartbroken pools
A screaming silence
Blocked behind her
Tinted view
With a blink, rivers flow
She is lost and all alone
Who is there ?
When there is nobody else
Beside her.
She feels
As separated as her tears
As they are falling
Hope disappears
Collecting pain
Where the hazel pools drain
In her
Sunglass water pails..
Her sepia seeps into my secluded dreams
and I lick the longing off her skin
a sensation appeasingly smooth and free
like the flashing of the headlights of the night
lit up as if thousand shooting stars
shining brightly through her eyes
as my fingers trace her sky
a most delicate and delightful high
and I'm high
although very much afraid
for if we get too close
it might hurt if we break apart
Chance flavours time
As wit strings rhymes
Old ancient ways
In buried stay
Old picture book
Brown sepia looks
Old times live on
***** yet beyond
Old photos here
Milestones once dear
Old memoirs style
Strange faces file
Old beyond trace
Haunting this space
Old brown sepia
Quaint black media
Ancient old wits
Lost times, blown bits
Autumn colours drift down like aubergine
Catch carelessly a crimson columbine
Chestnut leaves flutter
Auburn tinctures drop down like treasure troves
Gather gently from glossy golden groves
Amber blades clutter
Sepia hues dance down like floating planes
Amass amply those amazing remains
Ginger fronds putter
This is my brown poem,
A sepia, mahogany, tan poem,
Coffe colored with cream poem,
A dark chocolate, caramel colored peom.
A sweet tooth, got to have you white chocolate poem.
Golden brown, sassy brown...a hot fudge sundae syrup
Dripping poem.
Hershey kisses chocolate, tongue tickling, teasing poem.
Spine tingling
Shivering
Shimmering
Brown poem.
Writing a brown poem with my pink pen,
With love in the middle,
Yeah, with love in the middle.
Nestled in the arms of night's embrace
I wait for grievous thoughts to fade
as though they were bubbles popping
one by one, in a fluted glass of champagne
When bold colored memories languish
sepia visions distort my sorrows
and the scars branded across my heart
become blurred by the moon and stars
I'd rather not recall the depths of sorrow
No need for crayon drawings of it all
Time should erase the heartache I feel
but it's moving much too slowly, I think
