Premium Member Facing My Demons

Facing my demons today,
For although they may never go away,
I still believe in finding my own way
Beyond these feelings which have never seen the light of day.

Premium Member A Long Night

Poor Barbara was up most of the night
A limerick she was trying to write
Wrote more than eleven
They stunk to high heaven
By morning she still hadn't seen the light

Premium Member Once we know

Once we have seen the light of Self,
our life flows gently by itself,
for having been, seen and so known,
in time we come into our own,
with no agenda on our shelf.

Darkness and Light

Where there's darkness
know that there's light
We only know it's dark
because we've seen the light

Light guides us
through the dark
But darkness shows us
who we are

Premium Member The More I Think

The more I think

Of those who did not live

Today's glorious dawn to see, my Lord,

The more I thank Thee

For

Having seen the light

Of the day!

CONVERSION

I have signed the pledge of success:

Stood in the group and confessed

To drinking tea and coffee to excess;

But now I have seen the light, I'm better -

No more tannin and caffeine fetter.

I’m a beertotaller.

My Future

I have seen the sign
that my star is yet to shine.
I have seen a vision
that I must build my nation.
I have seen the light
that is shining so bright.
I have seen a dream
that my future will gleam.
I am keen,
in what i have seen.

Premium Member The Guiding Light

Ever have I seen the light

It guides me on my way

Like a torch on a moonless night

Like the dawn of coming day

Like the North Star shining bright

Like a lighthouse on the shore

Oh praise thee thy guiding light

That shines forever more
Form: Rhyme

God

I feel the lords warm embrace as the sun shines down upon my face,
I feel his love and comfort too as before I was nothing but cold and blue,
I've seen the light that guided me through my darkest night,
I was lifted up and put on my feet......For the lord is now what I seek.

Faith Is What You Need

You need to have faith each and every day
So that you can move on with your life
It will ease the burden a lot
And you will have a lot less strife

Put yourself in God’s hands
And make sure you do what’s right
And then you will feel so much better
And you will have seen the light
Form: Rhyme

The Long Night

Sitting by the fire, back to the darkness.
Soft flames highlight his face, staring into the night.
The high cheeks, the deep eyes, with lips grey, and stone-like.
Later, the glowing coals show his face, calm, resolved.
Sculptured and statuesque, of one who's seen the light!

The Light

I have seen the light that shines
I have seen the life
The substance of the blessings true
The revealing of the wife
Legions come to spoil the day
Preying on the weak
But I shall walk in victory
When it is God I seek
I give no time to the enemy
His lies will never win
My day is surely filled with life
When I let the light shine in
Form: Rhyme

Dazed

I've been dazed and confused
From the day I met you
Yeah I lost my mind
And I'd do it again
Either I've seen the light
Or I'm losing my mind
There's something about you
That's got me dazed and confused.
I wanna be alone
Alone with you
Does that make sense,I don't care
I want to steal you away
And lock you away in a treasure chest

Premium Member You Still Write of Me

It does me good to see
That you still write of me
Whether love or hate it be
Or some torrid fantasy
Whether truth or lies you write
The words have seen the light
Indifferent you can’t be
When it comes to thoughts of me
I’ve become much like a muse
The lyric to your blues
I read it all with glee
For you still write of me

Premium Member Barbie For Worse

Barbie on her knees, over the toilet.
Ken pulls back her hair.
Skipper and Midge share love and support.

Barbie went on to wear wigs and bandanas,
her hair in the sink, sagging marshmallow breasts.
Big days were sitting in a cancer circle
waiting for coffee and cookies to pass.

Barbie hasn’t seen the light for days,
her pink cadillac out of gas.

Sleep

it finally happened
my heart finally broke
from a real deep sleep
a finally awoke
i opened my eyes
and i've seen the light
i can't take no more
i don't want to fight
there's nothing left to do
nothing more to say
i just can't get through
you're stuck in your ways
reality hurts too much
it's penetrating my soul
i want to go back to sleep
where i'm in control

Insanity Is More Fun Than Youd Think

informed by myself
and ever so clever
for a man who has never seen the light

a day to remember
with a black toothed grin
was the day i learned how to win the fight

bones they break, and flesh it rips
to cope with human strength
dealing with the blasphemy
of joining in the rank

a rebel to the state
and a thorn upon its side
turning back the pages
when i used to turn the tide

Strange Dreams

I dreamed once of a head of gold
that vastly filled the sky,
and there beneath, alone and cold,
the lonely figure I.

I dreamed once of a suffering sheep
for which all help was vain,
which neither brother death nor sleep
could rescue from its pain.

I dreamed once of a house forlorn
whose name I dare not say.
Those entering there of mother born
had seen the light of day.

Premium Member The Veil

I dreamt
I lifted the veil
And seen the light
And everything was alright

The secret was no longer hidden
As a girl, I played by the sea
The seven seas were open to me
And I beheld the wonders of the world

In my older years, I dreamt
I saw the silence of the final hour
Then I felt it drifting away from me
A place where we all will pass someday

No Place Like Home

No place like home. have you ever been away on a journey and you felt like it home?
   no place like home.
have you ever seen the light and you prefer the dark?
   no place like home.
you don't feel safe, you don't feel love , you try to bring the love from home with you and stay under it when you get distracted.
you wont stay for long, you will return someday.
no place like heaven.
Form: Verse

Burn Your Memory Down

Lost in a dark vaporous pit
Suffocating in the fumes of you
After you went up in flame
I tried to extinguish you for good
Still you hang around
Like a broken parachute
Trapped on a tree limb
What does it matter
We won't be taking off
Or crash-landing ever again
In the vast and vacuous
Space which is your soul
I have been too many times
I'm climbing out now
I think I've seen the light

Searching

I haven't seen the light of day in so long,
I'm searching for what cannot be found,
I cannot let this feeling go,
I will die before I give up this dream,
The dream fo finding it,
finding what not many have found,
it may take this life,
and maybe another lifetime,
searching for love may take forever,
but I will never give up my search,
I will find it,
I only need your help,
then I can rest in peace.

Insidious

Close your eyes,
Let the light flee.
Darkness becomes your world,
Now try and escape.
You find a way,
you’ve found the key.
Not even the birds could feel as free;
Soaring over the clouds high above,
Tempted by Icarus’s love.
Oh the sun is an angry *****,
Alluring like Gretel’s witch.
Snuffing the light into night;
Casting out your sight with her plight.
Darkness becomes darker once you’ve seen the light.
