seashell necklace, sand dollar candy dish
souvenirs bring the beach home
kitschy, yet nostalgic
a kimo written March 31, 2017
Skill kisses the sand,
a game with the ocean floor;
Each move confident;
The sea tumbles with shells,
High tide reveals a check mate.
One
Stroke of
Strange object
Fills seashell with
Perfect pearl priceless
Divine graces
Do not leave
Poor of
None

Seashell Symphony,
On ear, rhapsody playing.
Ocean Conducting!
Dedicated to Raul...you're a very good teacher...tell me what you think?
Listen to poem:
A seashell sings a sea-shanty,
With waves that keep my soul in tow;
Its haunted echoes drift back to me;
Sea-sawing memories where'er I go.
Gray-white skies
Finger frigid image
To the window of ocean
Cream-lined breath waves
Shell….pounding
The silent mind
The ear, with sounds
Of your name
my ears on your chest
sound of ocean in seashell
they said you are gone

I hope one day I will be free
of this seashell that enfolds me
Not able to dance on the beach
That dream remains out of my reach
E'er bound to the realms of the sea
Celtic Priest stands tall
Village folk wide eyed in hope
Sun will hear his call

-Seashell-
this shell for your ear
on a cold winter’s morning
echoes of summer
listen, and recall our nights
cradled by sand, veiled by stars
Solitude, no thoughts-
the echo in a seashell,
an eloquence the
soul sometimes yearns for, the calm.
The ocean is a seashell.

he marked his spot on the beach
and warned everyone not to touch it
Keeping his tiny seashell safe
we kept it there for years
as a reminder that he had existed
and that we loved him
***
and if you and I are
roses
so how much are
the words
mumbled
in the breaking
most tender of the day
and this world is perfect
like a seashell
left by someone
on a desert shore
She held a seashell to her ear
But heard no soothing sea,
Just choking gasps of life caught in
An ocean of debris.

I built a castle in the sand,
The biggest one in all the
land.
A seashell serves as helper
on the seashore,
With bright dancing glitters
on the sand,
Until the waves washed all
the sand away.
Soft and feathery and illusive
Each word a woven world of fantasy
An artistic lair for the lunacy of emotion
Musical, distant and serene
Aesthetic shelters like seashells
Cast by the angst of the ocean
The day shines like gems
Glistening in the sunlight
I feel rich today
I find a seashell
I listen for the ocean
The sea comes to me
Found the mother load
The gold mine was in her eyes
I'm rich forever...
tall waves hurl... unfurl
seashell luster washed ashore
~ sundrenched turquoise hues

Pell
a bell
in a seashell
and the echoes will dwell
resonating to dings that swell
to crescendo, a carillon of bells
that befells the hearer to quell,
and knell

Early morning is the perfect time to walk the beach,
the cool water licks at my feet.
The soft sand is like walking on a pillow,
pretty seashells yell-pick me up.
My day started off with a bit of heaven on earth.
turning the seashell
adjusting my eyes
contemplating
passages unseen
inside
pushing me
down its slide
on slopes
whose whispers
surround
my ride
she gleams
across the ocean.
leaving her mark
touching every wave.
she scours the sandy beach,
every seashell accounted for.
she is the night's security guard,
only hanging her head to nod,
till morning's early crescent takes over
Oceans of blue green waves
Occlude seashell strewn coasts
Oysters pockmark footprint
On the carrageen moss
One pearly dream moonlight
Over tidal burst dams
Ovulate pools of thought

The oldest version dates from Tom Thumbs' 1744 songbook. Modern versions keeping with times, caused 'Mistress' to go dark. 'Cockle' is a seashell.
Mistress Mary sang like canary,
When they surround her stronghold,
Swiped silver bells, hid pearly shells,
And pretties weigh all in gold.
