He Marked His Spot

he marked his spot on the beach
and warned everyone not to touch it
Keeping his tiny seashell safe

we kept it there for years
as a reminder that he had existed
and that we loved him

The sentiment you've expressed resonates so well with me. I remember having all sorts of peculiar momentos -- an old stick, a piece of rope, etc. -- to remind me of places and people who otherwise be long forgotten. Interesting, Caren. Thanks, Gershon
