Jonathan Livingstoned Seagull
Met American Bald Eagle
As it flew away
It was heard to say,
"Vasectomies are still legal!"
In the eye of the young seagull
The whole ocean flows beneath the waves
Caught in the moment of infinite beatitude now it drowns.
Percy looked up into the sky
Just as a seagull flew by
Percy felt a big plop
That seagull had dropped
Something wet in Percy's eye
wings of the ocean
rock’n roll lullaby dusk -
seagull inflation

fragrant gardenias,
steaming cafe au lait
jazz, a seagull flies.

arching
over rainbows
singing the present thought
since newborn, beats the sheltered heart
freedom
Seagull with sad withdrawn eyes
Drawing wings close to his side
Wind calling drawing
On death ears falling
Hurt with an injury
Somewhere
Form:
High snowbanks surround
Slush puddles frozen on street
Seagull atop pole.
An Haiku from Your Window contest
Carol Fillmore
This summer, it was Jilly’s dream
to eat a sweet, chilly ice cream
A seagull it took
Jilly said, “Oh, look!”
For Jilly’s too sweet to blaspheme!
Once the world may say let me
roll or bounce like a ball
a round of applause to the bull
like seagull?
later is something to imagine?.
I'm sure the seagull on the post
in my garden
was feeling
Feeling good
His awkward tilts from left to right
his bobbing squawks
catching the beat
just too well
grey wings soar the clouds
diving and dipping the surf ~
seagull serenade

there was a seagull so fine
daily searching the seaside shoreline
finding a set of false teeth* with glee
made him a gourmet carefree
knowing they'd help him to dine
Sky with white clouds soaring eagle
Ocean breeze with flying seagull
Diamond necklace looking regal
Queen's adornment
Jay with color no birds equal
Nice allurement.
Form:
Artist went wild painting an eclectic sky
I admire this
Seagull watches me, decides to come closer
Takes a look at the rusty anchor
Takes off satisfied
A clever touch
Blue sky seagull chirp,
pealing plaintive strain oe’r tides,
weeping waters rush
Cherry dew song thrush,
weaves mirthful mist from spruce tree,
off-key forest fall
her breast falls again ~
with tides that coil from the shore ~
she's still crying back
under fisher's snag ~
water alone heals her wings ~
fly, my dry throat kiss
gorgeous rainbow sky this morning
citrus peach turning into pink
contrast against the bright blue ocean is breathtaking
a baby seagull stands in a pink shadow
daring me to play
Lapping waves, boat gently rocks, lone seagull screams from overhead.
Sun setting on horizon evokes feelings of happiness
Wedding Day, honeymoon cabin, remembering night of love
I sense a Napoleon complex
As Joe the canary his wings flex
He stretches tall and proud
Squawks and shrieks really loud
At the Seagull who has huge, huge pecs
vulnerable seagull left behind
standing on sandy beach
staring at lopsided waves
listening to the warnings of the sea
where is your family?
I empathize, feeling alone myself
a comrade
before you cut your hair
it was a long river
for swimming hands
took a boat ride
just you
and a flowing heart
above a rolling hull
a seagull
combed the sky
over your pale shoulders
Sammy Jo’s photographer’s heart captures the seagull in flight
Her mother has collected seagulls since the seventies
She imagines her mother declaring this a masterpiece
she adores her daughter’s skills
Pretty little seagull
a soft cry above the waves;
rainbows frame the moment,
a postcard come to life;
Dizzying beauty,
I want to touch the Sun;
Sing me a song of paradise
each dream a taste of peace.
