Well, not in San Fran but having spent many such days in downtown New York, the South Street seaport, Grenage Village, in the jazz cafes, listening to greats such as Max Roach, this brought back fond memories.

I like any music with a toe tapping, driving beat. Still play drums (that's my daily jogging), a full set, every day. It has been an escape, tension relieving, soul expressive outlet all of my life. My love started by listening to Krupa, and has never ended. Fascinated by percussion of all types. This is where Ila and I part. She is strictly Classical. I like all kinds -- like opera and soul -- a little country and a little rock-n-roll.

Prince, cool you like Jazz, I got to see Errol Garner in Chicago at Loyola U. I was sitting three feet from him.I was into jazz as a young teen,,,,must have been great in NYC. Do you like Boss Nova, I was in SF, a guy came up to my friend and I. A few seconds later we were at Count Basie’s Birthday Party, amazing. Musicians are wonderfully creative Pangie

This area in San Francisco was a special place and well described in this poem. Just a neat place to visit and experience.

Elena, I have written, Lord knows how many poems on San Francisco. At least there were no giant hills to climb on Union street. No rioting or nut jobs. I remnber how well people dressed there. I met Dick Van Dyke on Union Street. I stopped him and we chatted for quite a while, add him to Union Street memories. Hope you pen another poem soon.Yes? Lobe, Pangie

Smooth jazz, Eve is Special as you so noted... I adore gardenias. You can buy one on most street corners, I kept a fresh one floating in water,, I lived three blocks from Union Street in the late 70’s. Sweet years,my friend... Panagiota seagulls are beautiful...wow
