Scooter
I was a strange child.
I never crawled as a child.
I always scooted.
Scooted right on my behind.
Until I began to walk....

Deal With It.
I saw a lizard lose its tail
severed by a rusty nail
Off he scooted
in shock I guess
now an...izard
 but what the heck....

Premium Member You Lie She Said
You lie she said.
For she was not nice.
It’s the truth, he fibbed.
He did it twice.
Are we friends? She asked.
As she scooted away
Sure, he lied. For that was his way....

Boy and His Scooter
Boy and His Scooter
Dr. James E. Martin
©January, 2014

The scooter scooted along
As he sang his favorite song.
He hit a big bump,
And took quite a lump,
On the scooter he does not belong!...

Premium Member make my day
Make my day! Clint McRoostwood said.
His attitude was as staunch as his comb was red.
Many scooted away from him with dread.
His movie star status was totally well fed.
He pretended that he was superior, and well-bred....

“One more jump and I’ll have that apple!” Leland said.

She is scooted back into ebony shadows
There is no twitching or movement whatsoever.
She waits patiently.
Loud laughter of the two-legged ones annoys her.
She closes her eyes, so she is not discovered.
All she needs is some rescuer dragging her out of her comfort zone.
Her wait is not long.
A streak across the concrete
She reaches out her paw.
Dinner!...

The Tails of Susie and Mutt
Once upon a time, Susie squirrel
Saw an awkward, gray mouse named mutt
The initial attraction was
Because she thought he was a nut!

Little mouse Mutt, was a bit slow,
The butt of many a wise crack
Crawling around once for a week
With a "Kick me" sign on his back!

Mutt gave her an adoring look
She said, "Behind you is a cat!"
Then she scooted up an old oak tree
And so that was the end of that!...

The Rebooting Boogie
Late one night
I decided to write...
While musing in silence
My computer was in defiance

As I scooted to the keys
My thoughts began to be un-eased
As the program stood still
I kept rebooting until~

I realized what was happening
That ole boy needed new programming
He kept doing the rebooting boogie
‘Til every virus was gleaned, and tossed away-- Happily
There’ll be no more of that boogying today...

Premium Member Acorn Hair Please
Acorn hair please the squirrel said as she scooted into the chair
Same color or shape or both? Asked the beautician named Mare.
Whatever you can do, but it has to be done exactly right.
Because at six o’clock I am eloping, this very night.

So, Mare did her best, and the squirrel was pleased in all ways.
You have a great night, she said. This is one of my best days!
She invited Mare to be her bridesmaid that evening too.
But alas, Mare and her family had something else to do....
