Sean Penn Resurfaces
an aging celebrity Penn
will every now and again
demand our attention
he'll build up the tension
he just never knows to say when....

Damnation Refound
A Mississippi back road,
burns in my mind
Its memory twice buried,
resurfaces, reminds
That Mississippi back road,
you once led me down
Perdition, destruction
—damnation refound
(Villanova Pennsylvania: April, 2017)...

Thunderclap
"Thunder is the sound of heavens clapping."
~ Anonymous
dark sky exploded
as loud as a firecracker
still silence broken ~
childhood fear resurfaces
hiding under soft pillows...

My Lonely Walk Alone
My lonely walk alone
gives me time to
think about the hurt
which is nagging me.
It resurfaces to attack
now and then until
I decide to shake it
loose as I saunter off.
My mind takes in
the scene I pass
looking at children
playing in the city park.
They are laughing and
having fun in their world
of play in which I wish
I was part of again....

Zen Mode
failures and triumphs
whose
there is no one here
save presence
in a space-time warp
as has been impulsed
in this lucid dream
residual identity
sometimes resurfaces
that we may feel
transient tremors
seeming as real
overriding all sensations
the magnetic bliss current
as ignition renewal
steadies the love flame
as the false drops away
06-January-2023...

The Haunted Memory
I long to hide in a hole and stay hidden
Embarrassment haunts me as the memory resurfaces
All eyes punish me with their glares
My moral sense did not guide me
For it was not developed
At 14, my young mind did not know consequences
I beat myself up in my mind
I scream to make it better
But the anxiety never goes away
the memory never fades
As it uninvitedly resurfaces, I relive it
Over and over and over again...

Tapestry In Bloom
Lilac drips emboss the outstretched plains
Whilst the aquatic festoonery resurfaces
Permanently
The Expanse is Extraordinary
But it is all so ordinary, in its distance spanned
Repeated
But it is so glorious, the defeat that refused a compromise
And found itself in the inglorious moratorium,
clawing, drawing closer
To the Expanse, in Extraordinary enduring hostile pity
To find the clawing was for not
If the water flows regardless...

Peace And Harmony Sequel
One of my first poems
resurfaces in my mind
as I recall my
beginnings as a Poet
I reminisce about
peaceful times when
Peace and Harmony
were plentiful, bountiful
It's amazing how things
can filter through your thoughts
causing emotions
that surreptitiously cement
your current actions
It is all one
big joy ride
that convalesces through
existential surroundings
bound by convictions
that put you in a place
that is calm, serene...

Spirituality
The whirlpool
of confusion tries to sink it,
but it firmly remains afloat
The winds of logic try to blow
its supernatural nature away,
but it still remains firm like an oak tree
The flames of selfish ends
try to burn it into bursting flames,
but it still remains fresh and beautiful
The sands of time try to hide it,
but its essence of Truth resurfaces
in our hearts, regardless of our culture
and beliefs we are born in
