Life Sentence

After the diagnosis,
each moment a dream
of years and then months
and days in between

After the surgery,
the dream became real
time again captured
—the sentence repealed

A No Win Situation

Time ran out, winner’s fans took to the field
But a ref pushed them back; forced them to yield
   A flag had been thrown
   And how fans did grown
A field goal was kicked; victory repealed

This actually happened in one of the football games I saw
last year.

Another

Leave me alone,
I’m deaf to your pleading

Leave me alone,
I can’t feel what you feel

Leave me alone,
my time not for owning

Leave me alone,
our history repealed

Leave me alone,
the bridges are burning

Leave me alone,
the entrance has closed

Leave me alone,
the pages are turning

Leave me alone
—another I’ve chose

Soda Tax Axe

The pols say: ‘A soda tax is OK.’
Cynical voters nix them anyway ~
   For they rightly suspect
Pols just want to collect ~
Behind it all, a revenue grab preys

Yet

My nation is filled with weariness today
Ministers might, in joy, sway in each highway
Much debts on farmers have got repealed they say
My nation is filled with weariness today
Mullers, till now, are not happy, anyway
Might they make live the people dead yesterday?
My nation is filled with weariness today
Ministers might, in joy, sway in each highway

Only Words

Only Words

So beautifully she shone,
In light and ethereal dawn.

Words of sorrow, loss of heart,
Penned lovingly, of worlds apart.

In faith a soul is healed,
Rebuilt, the past repealed.

Heart opened to a loving word,
She sees and hears, before unheard.

Embraced in grace, from above,
A kiss placed gently, in love.

Joyous wonders of life revealed,
To each one of us, who learn to feel.

My Heart Is Healed

what is love?
Is it real?
I dont know what to feel.
You broke my heart before
but now im not so sure.
When i look into his eyes
I see a pleasant guy.

You broke my heart.
you left me there,
to cry my tears away
and now you want me back

I say NO! NO! NO!
no thanks to you
Ive learned again
that love is real.

Now my heart is healed
and you are repealed.
Now that i am here to stay
you have finally gone away.

Daylight

Dusk merges with shadows that surround and enclose silhouettes in repose; claimed by Twilight. Luna slowly ascends: as Her beauty transcends Night, and darkness descends bathed in moonlight. Now, no longer concealed, shining stars are revealed; and darkness is repealed by faint starlight. Dawn heralds the sunrise, and to no one's surprise: furthering Night's demise Sol brings daylight.

Prohibition In the Usa

Prohibition began one hundred years ago in the USA.
People had their right to drink booze taken away.
This made people unhappy and they began to whine.
And this caused Al Capone to start peddling moonshine.
Capone was evil and because of him, people were killed.
On December 5 1933, the 18th Amendment was repealed.
People were very happy because prohibition came to an end.
They were as giddy as school girls to have the right to drink again.

Dry Summer

DRY SUMMER

On Harcourt Hill the summer grass is parched and desiccated
All dry and flaxen neath the beating sun, its message carried
To teachers’ throats to give a thirst, a craving unabated
For College now is designated: ‘campus dry’ and arid

But when this season’s over and the sun’s becoming mellow
And classrooms echo vacantly with words select and wise
Then, temperance repealed, with soft tones as a solo cello
Some sweet and blest libations will restore, revitalise.
