A No Win Situation

Time ran out, winner’s fans took to the field
But a ref pushed them back; forced them to yield
   A flag had been thrown
   And how fans did grown
A field goal was kicked; victory repealed

This actually happened in one of the football games I saw
last year.

Yes, I've seen this happen too. Doesn't seem funny at the time, but looking back we have to laugh. Great poem, Diane! Congratulations, Carolyn

Congratulations on winning with this entry. One little item was apparently overlooked: At the end of your fourth line, you should have "groan" in lieu of "grown". What you have there is either the past participle tense conjugation of the verb "grow", or an adjective.
