Loss For Words
My words fall down and skitter around
like leaves from an autumn tree,
    dry and crinkly.
                   Sapless.
                   Lifeless.
Vestiges of prouder times
when language used to speak my mind....

Distancing
Prouder,
Louder,
Pushing & shoving,
Totally unloving,
Colder & farther,
Farther & farther
Away from you!

"Oh, God, is it true?
Is this really me?
Really, can it be,
My heart
Torn apart?
Heal me please!
Forgive me God, only Jesus frees!"...

Premium Member The Clam
There once was a clam
In a shell on a beach
By a rock under sand
At low tide out of reach

Till a boy with a hat
And a pail and a rake
Moved the rock and the sand
And the clam he did take

Said the mom of the clam
“I could not be prouder,
Good luck little clam
You’ll make a fine chowder!"...

Helicopters
Helicopters dot the sky
Like dragonflies, but louder.
I wonder if the insect world
Sees them and feels much prouder.

For how their rumbles fill the air,
Attracting much attention,
Although their engineers would claim
That wasn’t their intention.

Still, I prefer the gentle buzz
Of wings to their propellers.
(Except for stinging insects –
I’ve no fondness for those fellers!)...

We'Ll Tell
A love like this I’ve never known,
And now I know so well,
I’m proud in love, and prouder yet
Of all, one day, we’ll tell.

And ours is love that’s carved in stone
With patient, steady hand,
Where others, who known with regret,
Could only write in sand.

And ours is love that, called our own,
Is shadow-bound for now,
But darkness makes it wise, forget
The where, the why, the how....

Deterred Wisdom
I know competition is only war
It is all we are trained to do
There in parade an army of czar
Republican troops forward too
And bright still shines the regiments
Of kings, or a modern queen
Islands too with prouder contingents
Marched upon the Olympic scene
I cheer because there is no blood shed
No trumpet crying over the drum
Grumbling for the burial of the dead.
It is bloodless better, this deterred wisdom...

Mending Your Broken Heart
It's a rocky-road journey
Hold on tight
You're not alone
We're with you

As promised, day will get better
Allow yourself the pain and grievance
There's no turning back
Look forward
You've progressed enough

I can't wait for the laugh
When it's over
You won the victory
We couldn't be any prouder

Presently, don't punish yourself
There will come better days
Hold on tight
Keep the faith, darling...

Thank You
"Thank You"

Brought tears to my eyes to hear your first cry,
You did.
Brought home love, caring, and delight for life,
You did.
Chased hard feeling away with birthday cake,
You did.
Brought me pride to see your graduation,
It did.
Brought home huge smiles in form of a grandchild,
You did.
Became new light in the life of new life,
You did.
No father is prouder of what you did,
Thank you for being my kid....

Premium Member Miss Bee Dee and Her Fluffy Tail
Missy Bee Dee had a tail that would not quit
It was fluffy and full, and it was amazing more than a bit.
She strutted around the yard, showing it off.
Loving it more that it made some people cough.

She was prouder than a peacock about this fine tail.
She loved showing it off to every Tom, Dick and Gale.
But one day two squirrels showed up with tails fuller and more rad.
Irritating her so, she left the yard huffy, jealous and mad....

My Dearest Daughter
As a little girI watched you
Run, skip, jump and prance,
As a young lady , I stood by
As you struggled,, learning to dance.

Teenage years passed, too soon they were gone
As a young woman you wore radiant glow,
I was so pleased with you my darling
I beamed with pride for I loved you so.

Today you have taken wings
and exceeded my expectations by far,
I couldn't be happier or prouder
Of who you became, I love who you are

I love you Mom...

ANIMAL LIMERICK

There was a young man named Chuck
Who had a little white duck
The duck disappeared
And everyone feared
That somebody stole Chuck's duck

One day the little white duck
Suddenly showed up at Chuck's
With a lady duck
Who had baby ducks
Chuck has a house full of ducks

The duck that belonged to Chuck
Had a great streak of good luck
He now has a mate
His life is real great
I know of no prouder duck
