Helicopters

Helicopters dot the sky Like dragonflies, but louder. I wonder if the insect world Sees them and feels much prouder. For how their rumbles fill the air, Attracting much attention, Although their engineers would claim That wasn’t their intention. Still, I prefer the gentle buzz Of wings to their propellers. (Except for stinging insects – I’ve no fondness for those fellers!)

You have more of them I suppose in the Big Apple. When I see one in my little world, I am usually intrigued and watch like a little child. :)

I get scared of bees and hornets. I find this piece to be quite enjoyable. Hope this New Year is an enjoyable one for you and yours. B'Shalom Matthew Anish

The final stanza really made me smile Ilene:-) there is a guy up the road from us who owns a mansion and his helicopter is always buzzing overhead often at quite unsociable hours - that's one buzzing insect I would love to keep on the ground!:-( hugs jan xx
