Concerning Procrastination
Issues not dealt with expeditiously,
Are meteorically elevated into problems.

late shoppers are in for big trouble
their deliveries are abubble
as everyone knows
all department stores close
USPS loads are all double
Doubt is a monster.
subtle at first, it must be your imagination
but always sneeking slowly closer
only way you put off facing it is procrastination
Form:
If you take your time, eventually time will overtake you.

There once was a person named James
Who really can’t stop playing games
He played too much
Left his homework untouched
So James’ marks went down in flames
Yesterday I was determined to live my best life, however procrastination came today and consumed my soul.

Joel once made a New Year’s Resolution
To put an end to procrastination
But half way through the year
He found himself waiting there
Lost in his stagnant condition

Mortality
fills our lives
with meaning
Procrastination
the future’s
bane
Today is prized
tomorrow
questioned
The moment’s
treasure
— our souls to claim

I used to be vibrant
Cheerful
Passionate
About life
Love
And poetry
Now I feel stagnant
Uninspired
Immobile
Unwilling to write
Lifeless
Caged
Procrastinating.
I miss the old me.
I miss how I used to be.
steady awakening
tapping on the alarm clock
ever getting up
procrastination
yeah steady getting up, up
ever getting up

Wind trembles
with premonition
of a gold
leaf's demise,
throughout Indian summer's

On the morrow good enough
If good enough be true
On the morrow time enough
Today the times are few
What once was said
Is said once more
In never ending queues
Till tomorrows become yesterdays
Todays an endless muse
I will do it tomorrow,
For I am in no mood;
Would rather prefer to brood.
Who wants to act,
Avoiding work needs tact;
But time doesn't adhere to the pact,
I end up being screwed,
For holding a view that was skewed.
I'm basking in pure relaxation
As chilled as a sloth on vacation
Some call me a bummer
For spending the summer
Indulging in procrastination.

Life cannot be compared with child's play
There are moments that decisions
Should be taken very quick
Procrastination is
A bad advisor
Follow the path
That your heart
Tell you
Now

Many times problems only warrant serious attention,
when the finish line banner is in sight.
And generally it reads,
BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME!
Procrastination is an ugly sin
It may feel good in the moment
You might think nobody will ever know
You may even have the best intentions
But eventually it catches up with you
then you have to pay the price
AP: Honorable Mention 2025
time passes, hands clasped,
afraid of what might happen,
clench tight on what's been.
eyes stare unblinking,
lest the sheer weight of mere thought,
reveals happenstance.
ears distracted dwell
on mantra seance murmurs
when will never end?
Take responsibility
And get things done
Stop talking about doing things
Or else, procrastination will catch up with you in the long run
Good thoughts and words
Only mean so much
They do not say how you feel
Eventually, you will lose touch
