although I got infected,
fearing they would laugh
at me.

from performing
their swaggering 
ceremonies,
functions,and parties,
and saved me
from the pain of
non-willingly following
societal norms I don't like.
I feel free and comforted

of simplicity,
but their egos tried
to surface
