Talents

talent in life
forborne within
one has or not

a poet writes
making sense or not
one’s prerogative

words makes talent
in an obvious way,
full of lies

Cuts Like a Knife

Today is the first day of the rest of your life Good or bad, happiness and strife, your choice Hopefully, it's positive It's your prerogative Avoid the stresses that cut like a knife

witches know what to do

Supersensory revelation
Explained to a witch’s delegation
They went to a higher elevation
As is their prerogative and their station
Enjoyed their annual celebration
Without the naysayer’s intoxication

Going Around Un the Buff

Going round in the buff is my prerogative Which in some snotty circles is deemed provocative So I gives them the finger And jiggle my jigger And my jigger says it's really not appreciative

Primal

It's the sun's prerogative
whether to shine.
It's the moon's volition,
to make our dreams sublime.
It's the stars discretion,
whether we align.

But to love you
is a choice all mine.

Primal and divine!

One Pisces Woman

One Pisces Woman

Compassionate and imaginative,
A fun, fickle, Pisces prerogative,
One day saving the world.
The next lives a dream world.
But, reality is indecisive.

It's Your Prerogative

In this day and age you've gotta be positive To combat the negatives, it's your prerogative Tell silly jokes Smiles they provoke Mission accomplished, here's to all you novices © Jack Ellison 2015

Loser's Prerogative

I was clawing at the cost.

Breathing in monster’s breath on me is lost.

I had lost my abilities in my sleep.

But I earned something new to keep.

Sympathy lives in me in knots.

In my blood, sympathy clots.

Take Two

Take two for the doctor’s perceptions,
About their prerogative to treat,
The poor and the waylaid,
By life’s fast lane.

The right to be a patient,
No matter who you are,
Is absolute, unquestioned,
You don’t need a star.

Honey Do Prerogative

the perfectionist

Sour Grape

It's my prerogative
to be pejorative.
Crass, grumpy,
and boorish to boot.
Like me, or despise me.
I don't really care.
I'll die.
None will cry.
My coffers they'll loot.
Take what they wish.
Every last dish.
Until there's nothing left,
but the bones.

Fault

At a loss for adjectives At once objective logic starts At your throat prerogative At sure rejection love departs At will defines your strategy At times your heart betrayed At certain points a tragedy At fault, you swing the blade

A Woman's Prerogative

Jimmy asked Janet out on a date

Janet told Jimmy he'd have to wait

Jimmy chose not to wait for Janet

And chased every girl on the planet

Then Janet said she may have been hasty

Thought Jimmy's offer really quite tasty

Janet told Jimmy she'd have her own way

Jimmy and Janet got married today

Manipulation Beaters

Stripped into auspicious
Feeding on vacuous
Tongue tied inversion
Masterful assimilation
Befuddled into coercion
The ******** on creation
A fortress in distinction
Disentangled from catipulation
Disemburdened from aberration
Digression from complaisant
Dispensation of prerogative
Perfunctory of repurchase

Surely This Is Life

Having a sun at my disposal,
and just on top of my balcony,
and a luxury of gods...
To have the scent of your charms
for my appreciation, it's a privilege
of audacious lover that I managed to be...
The port I sip,
is king prerogative...
The cuddles and massage you do
in my body is evidence
of full life... !

At Night

At night life goes beyond limits
Shameful and fearless evaporates
Boys and girls tiptoe out of their abode to peculiar places
Blankets dances all the night

Even the gloomy is hailed with glamorous compliments
The sinner has a prerogative to sin
The dark hides us from the views
Only two witnesses are present
The moon and the stars

Shrewd Resonance Rimas Dissolutas

There was no room for her honesty,
words turned from a false narrative;
Witnessing the start of this sham
birthed a brand new breed of justice;

Bustling bonfires burn so brightly;
Stay and fight? Her prerogative;
She stole back a stolen rhythm
just to toss in shrewd resonance;

Gospel sung from her diaphragm,
uttered in such sweet defiance.

Her Prerogative

They had fought.  He left without a word while she was sleeping. She threw on the gown she had worn for him the night before,  pushed off the china vase and blooms he had given her. She listened to it crash to the floor and sat on the window sill  where the bouquet and container had been.  She was alone but at least she was the only flower.

Doctor Are You Crazy

Coughing up phlegm
from end to end
struggling to breathe
since December

Where do I begin?
Please go to the doctor I urge him.
But he is a man
All macho and stuff

Break down and go?
What would a doctor know?
I am a male you see
Strong as a tree

Cough cough cough
Hack hack hack
I will continue coughing my phlegm
You do not realize, it is my prerogative, I am a him.

Old Rose

Doth if not thrill thee, Poet,
Dead and dust through thy art,
To feel how I press thy singing
Close to my heart?

You tell of a forlorn maiden
So much out of time,
Diminish stance, witless mind
Reft, with thy Rhyme.

Alas, it is so simple to dictate
With prerogative quill of pose,
Upon life’s inflexibilities
Cast upon a wretched ‘Old Rose’

Your Prerogative

Nature has given you a Face
Expressions are your prerogative

Nature has given you Limbs
Compassionate deeds are your prerogative

Nature has given you Mind
Divine thoughts are your prerogative

Nature has given you Heart
Loving all is your prerogative

Nature has given you Life & Death
Moments in between is your prerogative

Tolerance

Brutalising rights
The delinquent youth,
Turns opportune,
Moral disgrace
Knows no precincts,
Beyond all tolerance !

How much can
One allow leeway,
Racial bigotry
Blot on humanism,
Indifference or tolerance,
Never right on !

Enmity and hatred
Eat up like cancer,
Have no cure,
Yet must not endure,
Suffrage the prerogative,
Embrace compos mentis !

Face of Fear

Motived by self interest and the chance to explore,
walking with prerogative as though above the law,
without any opposition an unstoppable force,
there’s nothing irresistible in scavenging rewards,
when suddenly there’s danger the hunger is no more,
invasions are incursions when there’s no will to endure
prerogative evades when the fear knocks on the door
it opens to reveal a coward, oh how the mighty fall

Vertue To Be Man

Who doesn’t practice the justness in his self
Never to found the justice on earth
In this world
If you don’t see yourself as man
Or can’t wear shoes of man
How you then
 could lead us as man
To the faith of man
Be connected in and out
Be man
Strip this fake wings then peel the skin of angel
Be man
As you sick as u weak
Just as man
What u fear
Is what u bear
Prerogative of man
U approach
The (give and take)
So be fair so be real
Just be man
