God Has Specified
God Has Specified

There are certain thongs God Has Specified
Make sure all bets are covered that you tried;
Wear poker face,
Just in case,
And not be bankrupt before you going inside.

Luck of the Draw
I drew the cards
a game of chance
I should have known
the deck was stacked

your poker face strong
as you called my bluff
was it sleight of hand
or luck of the draw

either way, it
was always your call
and I leave the table
with nothing at all...

Listen to poem:
5 Card Stud keeper
David J Walker

All of my yesterdays have been
Shuffled back into the deck
As I draw from tomorrows cards
To play against today

Can I keep a poker face
Drawing 3 for 5 card stud
Is this hand my keeper
Playing against the grim reaper...

Premium Member Poker Face In the Rainbow Room
With rainbow and stout, and an Irish cold,
my vivid recollection — when to fold.
The smirk on green lips - a whip.
Sure knowledge of luck in grip,
as leprechaun laid down his hand of gold.

Poker Face
"Poker Face"

Oh!! Poker Face standing out in a crowd of disagreement..

"Poker Face"

Intelligent, clever, informed...

Wise in your high's and low's forever transforming but never conforming...

Look Up ...make your move using the motions and gesture's on your side...

Move "Poker Face"

I had heard of a poker face, haven’t you?
But this was the first time, the first time true
That I heard of a joker face in blue
It happened when I visited my cousin Sue

She took out the face and said, ‘what do I do?”
This joker face has gotten me in trouble, Lou.
I had no words. The face laughed at her too.
We decided to drown it in the loo....

Premium Member Beanie Weanies Clear the Way
I amuse myself by singing some nonsensical song
utterly ridiculous, but totally satisfying in a young blood way
I know this annoys my husband
which somehow makes the song more delicious to me
My body is making loud juicy farting noises
I love my man who is totally transparent, no poker face
and the way beanie weanies will get him out of the room
faster than a song....

Poker face attempted
pretense at being calm
Speech also pre-empted -
stuttering with aplomb.

What I should have said was...
I mean, I really meant...
You see, I didn't see...
Who'd have thought that she was

There is no known antidote
no medical solution.

Playing Poker With the King of Hearts
Cold shivers run down my

spine

at the thought of you.

It seems that your hands

were created only to break

your mouth only to deceive

your eyes only to con

your words only to persuade.

Poker face, Royal Flush

Ace of Spades

King of Spades

Queen of Spades

Jack of Spades

Ten of Spades

and somewhere,

I hang in the balance.

You played me.

Your tongue interlocked with mine

and pulled me into the depths of your

soul....

The Empty Room
an empty room
and I stare at the ceiling
blank eyes and a blanker slate,
my poker face
arms spread over my head
all I can see are
whirring blades blurring into
creamy paint and
the small cracks in between
the shadows in my chest,
mahogany
branching out their needles,
ebony
one pricks my eye
red ink taints crisp alabaster
damps it slow, slow, slow
I exhale shaky, shaky, shaky
heavy lids droop to a close
and no one sees
no one can.

Premium Member Bitter Ugly
words of anger and bitterness
fester yet do not surface
emotions boiling over
through it all
she maintains her poker face
in the stench of his glare
and ugliness of his heart

the abuse and violation
it’s all too much to bear
it’s all he spews
his days are numbered
the reign of transgression
soon to crumble
she dreams she prays

in great detail
on and on
and on and on
they went

blah blah
blah blah
ask me if I care
but I'm polite

I wear my best
bad ass poker face
my head wants to explode
but still they have no clue

can’t believe people can't read
that big heavy flashing billboard
the one that sits on top my shoulders
the one that screams blurts out
CUT OUT PLEASE THIS HOLY CRAP
I JUST CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE
