A Conflict Within
Low and lonely, but not to succumb
Through warring thoughts a pitfall deep
Ireful, rueful, contort
This speaker’s blunder deemed

Subdued with met solution
Devil’s plot decayed
Ruinous intent aborted
Blithe courage keenly resumed...

Premium Member Questions and Answers
We answer big questions one by one
As scientific progress marches on.
When we find an answer, we’re not done.
Up spring two new questions to dwell upon!

Math then informs us of a sad pitfall.
While the pace of learning does not relent,
There comes a day we know nothing at all -
Rounded to two decimals, expressed in percent....

If I Suffer Defeat
If in my journey to achieve my goals
I crumble or stumble an lose my soul,
My close acquaintances will know I gave
it my all
and know this was only a pitfall,
Without No father-No money- No choice-No guide
I only act towards my voice inside
If it leads me wrong an down a dead-end
I'll learn from my mistakes an try to comprehend...

Pitfall
I did not know what I did not know
Though I thought I knew it all
So I went where the wise don’t go
And pride came before my fall

Headlong down into a pit
Bleeding, bruised, heartbroken
Now in a darkened stupor sit
My future fears unspoken

Far too feeble to escape
Despair has left me numb
I find myself in need of grace
Waiting for rescuers to come...

Pitfalls
I can't avoid all the pitfalls
they run to deep or stand to tall
I will dodge as many as I can see
some I will keep to strengthen me
others may show me where to go
very well needed to soften the blow
once I have traveled and endured
the wrath,those mishaps encountered
will broaden the path, then my vision
will become so clear, the next pitfall
         "I shall not fear"....

An Inward Monologue
My dear mother, pray
remember us your children
in so many ways.
Silence, the mainstream
keeps us focused on Someone
God, our source of Life.
Why there is sadness,
joy, victory or failure.
They are part of Life.
Hail to Thee, our God!
Why there is sorrow
trust, triumph or pitfall.
They are part of Life.
Hail to Thee, our God!
hope and cause of existence.
To love and be loved....

Premium Member Dining Out
Carnivore lay in wait like, the feline among the sparrows. “Come sip my nectar, sweet syrupy elixir it’s free for the taking, a desirous sensation to lull you to sleep” sings Darlingtonia. Within ruby pitcher, tendril awaits, a cavernous throat dining on insects, perhaps a frog or tree shrew for the gullet of unassuming Cobra Lily, pitfall trap.

Premium Member Final Analysis
(Hidden pitfall; judging a Poetry Contest)

I like to approach
the final pass
at morning sunrise,
after a long restful renewal.

This was not that morning;
awake at 2:00 AM
baking cookies by 7:30.

On the fourth cup of java
crispy peanut butter crunch
wades across my tongue,
floating downward
in a warm, brown stream

to settle in fat cells
on waist and hips
as the spoken words
cross my lips....

Pelted with such incredible force
one hundred and ten on that fastball;
Harder to dodge than anything in sports;

Foggy you’re lost within a pitfall
sweet nothings condensed on your cheek;
That whisper is the be all end all;

Flooding you and now you’re left weak,
rambling and gambling placing bets;
You’re lost toting a winning streak;

Confused and so happily distressed,
Stuck on lips coated in liquid bullets....

Surreal Dream
The grim reaper casted his scythe
The hurt was real from the slit
The black smoke capped the dark of night
There's not even a glow of light

Then suddenly, in heaven's gate
I stood up to meet my fate
In silver clothing, I shone so bright
In silver hair and beard of white

But then before me was a pitfall
I walked as someone made a call
I was about to fall so deep
But then, I woke up from my sleep

You Got Me Once
You got me but you failed to see me
For you were looking for a jewel
In my thoughts I shined brightly
But you were digging for a well

You broke my heart in two
And made my spirit wander
You didn't see how much I love you
You only cared for your plunder

Don't you blame me if you fell
In a pitfall filed with trash
For my love for you was real
But you wanted more of cash

Pitfall of Insanity
My self mutated behavior
Resides over me
A disturbing dark form
Drifts there permanently
The sadistic hovering mass
Forces torrential downpours
Which rain decaying acidities
Sweeping over me instantly
As an infectious disease
Running ramped through my blood
I have yet to catch my breath
And still it pushes forward
I have damned the innocent
Or is it with my self loathing
Grudge seeking, spiraling pitfall of insanity
I have damned myself
