Premium Member Dancing Into Summer
Dancing Into Summer Written: by Tom Wright 7-13-2016 Like a ballet dancer, Spring has pirouetted into summer. Bringing with it, days of suffocating humidity, A rising heat index and excess pollen; Until leaves color, I’m sure it’ll be a bummer.

The Wild Swan
The Wild Swan

She flipped,
	Tumbled,
		Pirouetted,
			And blind to all,
			And in seeing no one,
Seemed to be seen by all,
	And startled,
Raced away before I could say
That she rose in all of her perfection
A wild swan upon the lake,
Seen early, but in being seen, seen too late....

When One Loves
Love is like ones pedigree given utterly,
When one loves life seems to move in slow motion,
When one loves you tend to have merriment of different emotions that makes you feel accolade.,
Love beckons beyond your mind , beyond your soul but mostly love is ensnared in ones heart.

When one loves your hearts , body and soul are pirouetted perpetually....

Wind Song, With Birds
The wind
howled ice-cold, clear-sky
lullabies

and awoke the moon,
who gazed, heavy-lidded,
at the stars around her

Leaves and dust
danced sambas and pirouetted
along the desert's river,

who was shivering uncontrollably
while midnight birds
struggled to fly upstream

against the manic,
stinging, musical currents
of turbulence and wonder...

This Is All I Have
This is all I have
Shredded heart
Rhapsodic essence
Grimace on the face
Cacophony in the ears
This is all I have
Lost talisman
Waiting for a serendipitous
Ineffable rumination
With an ephemeral existence
This is all I have
Mellifluous sound
Turned to screeching noise
Crystalline entity
Pirouetted to a crepuscular subsistence
This is all I have...

The Gift of Love
The night before Christmas, excitement was high
As starry-eyed children gazed up to the sky.
Soft snow pirouetted then vanished below
To silent applause from the moon’s lambent glow.
And voices in unison rang through the earth
Proclaiming the news of the Saviour’s birth;
A gift of great price from the Father above
wrapped humbly but offered with infinite love.

27.11.19...

Premium Member Loving His Ballerinas
Dancing goodness filled each corner of her heart
She was a ballerina today and it was marvelous for sure!
She twirled and pirouetted and loved every movement

Enjoying her glittery lace up slippers as much as any girl could
I am a dancer! She squealed to her daddy who had come to watch
He saw her mother in her, and he smiled, loving her even more
Which until this second he had not thought possible...

Premium Member How cottage cheese was created
The cow took a chance, pirouetted and pranced
to the ancient tune..
Her body sagged and one foot snagged and she
tripped on the tip of the moon..
Farmers found her at the trough.
Dogs danced in circles,
Roosters meowed.
Crows began cawing at quarter to five.
The locals were astounded the cow had survived..
The people now swear she has special powers.
A farmer sells her cottage cheese as most
her milk has soured....

Premium Member A Glimpse of a Promising Day
Listen to poem:

                           so, I rose...

                    early morn' today
and drew open the bedroom curtain
how glorious, the little bit I saw of dawn!
how wondrous to see the face of the sun....

                             smiling!

In a split-second, my joyous spirit
pirouetted and flung up to heaven
                just a tease...a glimpse
                    of a promising day.

Premium Member She Was a Dancer On Fire
She was a quintessential dancer on fire
The audience was leaping with her
Cobalt blues swirled in my head with each leap

She was an honest dancer with spirit
Bronze skin shimmering
Taunt muscles at the ready, I was a dancer!

She was a story-telling actress
Goldenrod glistened on her brow
Peach dancing shoes pirouetted prettily

I tasted lemon and raspberry as she twirled
Trying to follow her around the stage
Feeling colorful, beautiful and young again myself....

Premium Member Piece De Resistance
The Seconds grew impatient
   As Anticipation aimed its dart
Hope sat erect at the table
   Compliments practiced their parts

Breaths were held as the Chef pirouetted
The Piece de resistance proudly poised
Triumph on a smooth, sleek glass surface
To the accompaniment of Merriment's noise

Paradise was but a dimly lit candle
Beside the Pheasant's brilliant blue flame
Exclamations burst forth midst salivation
The Proud Bird had earned Highbrow acclaim...

Premium Member Autumn's Fallen Leaves
There's sadness in falling leaves, but beauty
in the carpet they lay at our feet.
                                               ~ by poet

I walked across a trestle bridge cloaked in scarlet leaves
They had whirled and pirouetted as if little ballerinas
dancing in Autumn's wind at the end of their season
How bravely they continued until bowing on the bridge
Not a sound did they make, weaving around each other
Looking on were their bare branches, nakedly chagrinned
...
