Constance's Six Beautiful Lines Contest     3/16/25

There's sadness in falling leaves, but beauty in the carpet they lay at our feet. ~ by poet I walked across a trestle bridge cloaked in scarlet leaves They had whirled and pirouetted as if little ballerinas dancing in Autumn's wind at the end of their season How bravely they continued until bowing on the bridge Not a sound did they make, weaving around each other Looking on were their bare branches, nakedly chagrinned

The pictures I use sometimes disappear and not sure why. Thanks, Paula.

Lin the perspective of the trees with bare branches is a good one. They might be sad about their loss. Lucky they get new ones! We are most fortunate to be able to watch and appreciate all the activity and dancing. Smiles!

Nature refurbishes herself in all good time. Wish we had the same gift of rejuvenating. lol We do justice to nature by appreciating the change of seasons. Thanks a lot, Duke.

Good morning, Joseph and thank you very much. I don't get much of a winter here, except for a bizarre foot of snow this year.

Hi, Tania. That kind of scene I never get to observe. Southern living doesn't cater to the colorful change of Autumn scenery. Thanks!

Happy Sunday Lin, So glad to afford a little time to read again. Trestle bridges have a special place in my memories. Such an eloquent stroll in this write called "Autumn's Fallen Leaves". -Richard

Don't tell anyone, but you are one of my favorite poets. This poem is one reason why. That picture is one I'd like to step into, reminds me of New England. I've lived in a lot of states that have breathtaking Falls, but here in Florida I'll not see that. I'm going to Virginia this Spring and I'm excited about the high I'll get. Constance will inhale this ... CayCay

Bourbon st. Has been cleaned up because the super Bowl and Mardi Gras were a few weeks apart. Lol born in New Orleans. About 20 minutes from downtown. Lived here all my life, including Katrina’s visit, except for 4 years in Colorado.

I have had many, many wonderful times in New Orleans, all before Katrina. Were you living there when the storm hit? Do you live near the quarter or near Ann Rice? You may not see color change, but you smell the beer and *** on Bourbon Street.

Alright, Cay Cay. We have a deal so I won’t tell anyone you’re one of my favorite poets and friends either. You were the first to comment on my first poem in 2015. I don’t see the color change of seasons in New Orleans. Enjoy visiting Virginia… sounds wonderful.. thanks for commenting.

As it is mine, Tom. Winter is hardly ever harsh here, so Spring has already taken her throne. Thanks!
