Ruptured

Pilfered promises
Needless to my somethings
Landslide refractions
Where angels think twice to tread
And fools rush to their finish

Abused

Pilfered a verse from a tricky muse
Each stanza with riddles he did infuse
Perplexed, I shuffled each line
Fusing the metric spine
Confused, my remaining wits did loose

Punditry

Bound within hero norms
pilfered from the pulpit,
games twist tailored tempests
crafting men as monsters

with derision conquered
by illumined command:
complicity in stabs
while changing the channel.

Avast Ye Lubbers

Harsh winds, salt spray
familiar weight of bloodstained sabre
hanging in a pilfered scabbard
one voice among the mayhem heeded
FULL SAIL - CAPTURE THE WIND
LEST WE BE O'ER TAKEN
BEWARE THE SHOALS!

Pilfered

Someone broke into my heart
And caught me off my guard.
He pilfered every ounce of love
And left a calling card.

I don't know how he did it.
I'm stunned beyond belief.
My heart was broken into
And ravaged by a thief.

Gaza

Gaza

Ocean’s breakers rule the coastline that guards
The land from sliding into the sea

Shallow water and sand dunes were once lands
The sea dastardly pilfered and demanded.

The breakers have broken all, yet want more
The foam of greed is in the breakers’ soul

Animal Hercule Poirot

If a giraffe or elephant wanted a peach,
consider - they would only have to reach.
That the giraffe could do it, everyone knows.
So could an elephant with his very long nose.
But look for the motive and you'll find the brute,
the pie-eating gorilla who pilfered your fruit.

Roses Left Upon the Grave

Heads hung low
   they withered and died
Condemned
   though they'd not sinned

Clipped red roses
  placed at graveside
Their sweet fragrance
  pilfered by the wind

Cold white marble
     wet from tears cried
Etched name caressed
    heart deeply chagrined

Stolen Thoughts

possessions, when pilfered, are gone; stolen thoughts- orphaned captives, live on

An Unsolved Crime

An intruder murdered the dark while it slept.
Dark green blood,
and nightshade shadows there were.

Moonlight crept through cold glass,
stealthily pilfered thoughts and dreams,
then it left, leaving a late dying shade.

Moments later,
an interrogating ray of sunlight
raised a dawn alarm.

Its Pilfered Seed

I steal a little line
From here …or ….there
A half a quote
Still in its underwear
Then weave these words
Into a threaded quilt
Sign my name
Feel a bit of guilt
For without straw
The bricks
Are just wet silt.

So, mix your mortar thick
Feed passion’s need
To hide within its grip
Its pilfered seed.

Yogi and Boo-Boo

Yogi bear loved to rob tourists of their lunch, raiding picnic baskets for brunch. Always on the lookout for the park ranger, his antics grew even stranger. Boo-Boo routinely got caught with pilfered snacks, being Yogi's friend had drawbacks. Tagging along on the promise of a treat, he served the master of deceit. Drifting Pain

I am in retreat, for a music
of visitation,
playing with the words.

Mission failed,
the upheaval starts in the islands
of void, to find out
who was unglazed.

Folding the protuberance
in a pilfered fidelity, the shards
had no input in violence.

Mistrial. A half-mad moon
crashes on grass. The fireflies
resume the journey
to darkness.

The fangs were out
in green charm, in fierce silence
of the exhumed vault.

Delusional Cowboy

For years, desire,
Was punctuated with excuse,
And resentment,
Became a full time resident
In his thoughts.

Age left him feeling
Like a malcontent,
Floundering through life shadowing
Love's Portion.

The years he envisioned as his
Had been long pilfered,
By inattention and neglect;

His decent years, now remote,
He visions through a haze;
Remorseful feelings by himself

He knew changed nothing,
For yesterdays are unforgiving,
And time respects no person.

Icarus Falling

Escape - the demon of the damned,
taunting the earth bound prisoners
plotting their sorties to freedom -
flailing in an ever distant dream.

Condemned by a wingless curse
I flew on pilfered feathers
challenged the suns supremacy
fell to my ego’s delusions

And falling – cursed my failing wings.
So small the distant orb of terra
so frail this moment to remember
escape - the demon of the damned.

To Yearn

Grey has all but pilfered the sky
the sparrow's gone and hid away
stillness has abandoned hope
down, in fallen leaves I lay

where has the laughter gone
that once echoed in my way
amiable and highly affluent
let not vengeance rue the day

Yes, I prayed for the rain
and her most auspicious ways
when I was burnt and blistered
by sun's blind and blazing rays

But now I beg to differ
and wish her soon return
there's things I can't remember
and her love I strongly yearn
