Why would anyone have had any alarm
When I am here with my incredible charm
And to think todays topic is catastrophic
Happens every time I try to be philosophic....

Shade
Let’s rest here
Under this shade
Of ignorance
It is so cool
And so empty
There is only you
And me
And our host
Come! Let’s quick
To the shade
Lest, exposed
We become wise
And waste ourselves
On things philosophic
Psychologic, pathologic
Here, under the shade
There is no literature
No law, no art
No science of deceit
No poetry, music or life:
Just ignorance and ourselves
Just ignorance and ourselves
Just ignorance
Ignorance....

Eternity
Eternity ensues to mount
from fertile vale above the mist.
Traverse the river past the turn.
Calm at the perpetual fount
and steady forth into the fist
of heady sun-struck silent burn.
Encounter rare beauty to count
and serenely sense heaven-kissed
soft, silent aerie space to yearn.
Drift in God’s righteous paramount,
true philosophic pantheist.
Sup of all tantamount to learn.
The universe is elegance.
Be within it with vigilance....

No Words
A poem looks at me,
I cannot see its face.
"What am I" it says.
This question is a mind-trap.
I reply:
You are an expression of the I AM.
The poem continues its inquiry:
"Am I good or bad?"
Another ditch to fall into.
I retort:
"You are what appears.
Good is bad sometimes,
bad can be good."
I lose patience.
"No more philosophic repartee!
Can I start writing you out now,
make you appear”?
"Not today,"
says the faceless one.

A Philosophic Age
The philosophy of philosophy
is a philosophic probe
not well lubed and often painful
as the followers grow old
crumbled bits of papered truth
lost within their souls
begging for a second chance
to somehow be made whole.
A truth that was a truth
but isn’t anymore
how did it go from iron clad
to whispered doubts galore
how did a bottled letter
ever reach its barren shore
to tell each foaming grain of sand
it’s philosophical no more
