A prisoner of the truth
sole inmate of denial
Serving time falsely promised
—paroled in cold exile
(Villanova Pennsylvania: June, 2014)
When your stories have all been told
Or worse yet, heard by young and old
I can tell you what to do
Find an audience that’s new
And torment them until you’ve been paroled
Have a crazy brother-in-law named Dickie
At times Dickie can be rather tricky
At 90 years old
He's just been paroled
His crime... he asked a cashier for a quickie

that guy’s sure in rags
sniffing glue from plastic bags
his torn trousers sag
i drive past in fancy jag
paroled with an ankle tag

see a man of a man
in some world
twisted
discarded
a nature waiting
to forest a barrenness
paroled from a stench
in a pre-birth of time
his time
when . . .
. . . and that shall
be asked again
Dentist Ben
Hampton had a dentist named Ben,
Inflowed nitrous gas to begin.
Just then his wife called.
Kept on talking that's all.
Life until paroled from the pen.

A very old vessel lined with gold
They tell me it is very old
Within each crack a story told
To fix this treasure mighty bold
And from destruction's door paroled
A new master work to behold
Its future now is not foretold
A keepsake to forever hold
This old vessel all lined with gold

Oh, those days of a Midnight Son
Of wild abandon
Love on the run
When sunset goals invade the brain
And hijack thoughts
A one-way train
For life begins at 12 am
At clubs and bars
No rules to stem
In rendezvous, in tryst of love
Where lusts prevail
Affairs thereof
Alas, a Midnight Son grows old
Yet, memories stand
In thoughts paroled
Numb your cortex and let her siblings speak,
Dumb her with a dactylic drumbeat
And let the fronted sound put her to sleep.
Turn off your domineering manager,
So others may awake at waking hour
To pour their paroled thoughts into your art.
Let the furnace of creativity
Create new combinations and concepts
For that is the art, not the detritus.
Just lead me through your gaze;
I feel achingly lost;
An unabsolved labyrinth
will not have a champion;
Wordless we plead the fifth;
Just lead me through your gaze,
explain the unspoken;
The bright Moon reflected
is full and without clouds;
It leaves me enchanted;
Just lead me through your gaze,
can I please be paroled?
Keep you but lose the frame
that blacks out the answers;
Let us finish this game.
Paroled from- My Love
What of the whispers of your heart;
When do these feelings ever stop;
Such a tangled hue, lovely view;
Open your mouth, I’m touched
Love you so much you take my breath;
Kisses of grandeur, mostly guarded;
Prisoner of my passion closely guarded;
You shall ne’ver be paroled from my love;
For I’ve sentence you to life;
Forever imprisoned unto me

Weather Forecast

No clouds, sky solid gray,
chill factor, twenty-seven below, today.
Eighty-nine days I’ve seen temps freezing,
will be next week before it’s easing.
About two more weeks before its done,
It’s been three days since snow begun.
Expect seven to ten inches two days hence,
and drifts three wires high on a barb wire fence.
Being paroled to the yard was bad I attest,
until parole was revoked and I’m in house arrest.
