The Walls of Notre Dame

the syrupy smile of the chimeras and griffins remove the flesh from our bones roam the walls of Notre Dame

A Love Story In Notre Dame

With a rhythmic spell,
Quasimodo sounds his bell
In his tortured hell,
Esmeralda hears him yell
From his hunchback prison cell.

wandering quaint streets
long ago with my small group,
we view Notre Dame

graceful Parisian essence . . .
fire can’t devour memories

Notre Dame Cathedral

Nortre Dame Cathedral,
ancient and regal
devoured by smoke and flame
history lost, stones crumble
who is to blame?

water and flame fight
deep into the April night
Parisians in the streets
watch the lady's defeat
mournful songs fill the smokey air

in the morning, hearts in mourning
will the Grand Dame of Paris still be there?

* Notre Dame ( Our Lady) took 107 years to build between the 12th and 13th century and for 850 years stood as the guardian of Paris, alas , it took only 30 minutes to be turned into ashes by a vicious fire!

Gloire a Notre Pere

Qui nous humble cette terre
Tu est ma victoire
J'ai gardée espoir
La vie si belle
On range les poubelles
Plus d'ennuies
Quand il fait nuit
Sincérités
À nos charités
Bien écrit
Plus d'ennuis
Vous pouvez noter
Nos coeurs n'on pas changés
Les yeux ouverts
Nous sommes bien couverts
Peut où ils demeurent
Ouvres leurs coeurs
À toi mon Seigneur

Notre Dame De Paris

Our Lady of Paris
With your ribbed vaults
Flying buttress
And rose colored windows
The Huguenots
The Republicans
Couldn't destroy you
Victor and Quasimodo
Loved you
Napoleon restored you
Fire couldn't destroy you
Your spire fell
But your spirit
Your cross
Still shines

Notre Dame Du Bois Joli

En route avec le Seigneur on l'a suit
Aucun regret
Parmis la forêt
Mes pionniers
Vous avez bien trouvés
Lesson d'amour
Au secours
Apprendre à partagé
Vous avez bien semés
Dieu retrouve en moi
Choix de sa foix
Au temps du respect
Une jeunesse imparfaite
Mon Dieu je te demande pardon
Merci de vos leçons
Plus de souffrance
Viens on danse
Tu te rapproche
Au fait des roches
Du village petit
L'épiphanie

Notre Dame

Long ago at Notre Dame
In the concert sang I
And afterward something new
The first time I met fans
Walking out of the hall
Many people saw I
And for reasons I don’t understand
They all wanted me
To tell me how
They all like the show
Loved the songs I'd sung
They all wanted me to touch
I didn't know what to do
Years have passed from that day
As still indeed I say
I do not know what to do
When ever I meet a fan

Spires

On the day four beasts fell…
Their tails whipping the sky in smoke
Consumed by their own fire
Such commerce
 Brought down an ancient spire

Little did the beasts care
A mighty success 5 years prior
When just one was saved
 From confusion and mire

For as the cock crowed
 In a mourning flame
If they would’ve recognized a sun
They would’ve known when thearthwon

Quasi-Quasimodo

Searching the smoking ruins of Notre-Dame cathedral, on the Paris Île de la Cité, one of the finest examples medieval of French Gothic architecture, with flying buttresses, rib vault, immense bells, enormous colourful rose windows all of which went through hell during the fearful fire of 2019, and the No Bell Prize winner was seen to have been mangled through the proverbial wringer as, when looking for Quasimodo, they found a dead ringer.

The Organ of Notre Dame

We listen to classical music
At times while on the road.
This morning there was organ music -
Bach's - the mother lode.

But this recording had been made
In Notre Dame, in France,
Which makes it very special
Due to recent circumstance.

The organ wasn't damaged
In that awful fire, although
It will be silenced for a while,
How long they just don't know.

With restoration promised,
Maybe someday we will hear
More of Bach played from this organ,
Piping deep and loud and clear.
