Notes About The Poem

I got to visit the most beautiful city in the world back in winter of '74 with 22 other students on our way to semester abroad in Madrid. What a glorious time of my youth!

Nd - On Recalling Notre Dame

wandering quaint streets
long ago with my small group,
we view Notre Dame

graceful Parisian essence . . .
fire can’t devour memories

No, it certainly can't; glad you got to see it before the burning. Let's hope it's rebuilt good and sturdy and lasts many more centuries.

Boy, again you've come up with something. Your well of creativity is so deep that no contest overly perplexes your muse. Another good job. You are an impressive lady-girl - love you! CayCay

Because it was being renovated many of the treasures had been moved into storage and when the fire started many people managed to get out much of what was inside, but yes some items were lost. Thankfully no one lost their life. Beautiful memories Andrea. Good luck. Tom.

I have no idea how much damage actually occurred. I imagine a good part of it is still ok. But anything inside its walls which was precious, maybe artifacts , etc. They cannot be replaced.
