Sitting in the crowd
Even when the music stops
I'm still listening
Writing down the silent notes
To play your favorite songs
Bitter coffee notes,
strawberries, habaneros;
A mixed aroma;
It smells like when you are here
but still cannot feel my gaze.
A knife to my wrist,
A gun held high to my brain,
A noose with a chair,
So many ways to leave earth
But still not enough reasons
I hear the songs of yesteryears
They play upon my eyes with tears
And like a hymnal above her grave
Her notes to me are what I save
Some men are against Women's Lib
So the FBI told a fib
If men aren't on top
They can't get the drop
On curves from an Insolent Rib
Dare to make
it rhyme
Fight for
every sound
Change with
every breath
Leave the world

fade into night's melody,

twinkle with each starry note,
a song clings to Luna's glow
I heard an angel
crying in the dark alone
as a sad violin song
in the middle of the night
and all those painful notes
are tearing me apart
