The North Sea
Sea and sky in gunmetal grey
Cold as liquid nitrogen
The salty tang of ocean spray
The ozone and the oxygen
Caught in the lash of a flash downpour
Our winter walk on a North Sea shore

The Spring North Sea Hurricane
THE SPRING NORTH SEA HURRICANE
Pussy willow slyly licked her paws
While heartless winds
Battered haughty ships into the sea

Home
Home
Lace filtered dawn, falling softly
Duvet of down, brush lightly
Drifting, timeless, floating here
North Sea breeze, hint of ocean air
Scent of green, languish awhile
Sunday at home, Irish mist smile
Remembered dream saved in heart
A soul remains worlds apart

What the Sea Has Taken
Sometimes
When the northern winds
Blow cold and still
And St. Elmo’s fire
Blazes in the night sky
Sometimes
When flying fish
Scurry about the darkness
Over the cold North Sea
Casting dolphin shadows
On the icy waters
I think of you
Thinking of me
And wonder
Why the sea
Has taken you
Away...

The River Tees
Her mouth fountains from the gare
nudges the north sea,branches left
upon my town, i can only stare
the views that greet me so adeft.
The River Tees holds a place in my heart.

Fen Blow 2
The soil sailed by the North Sea wind into road traffic all,
as oldies remember their parents, grand parents talk of
being transferred to England's little Dust Belt of the Thirties;
while the fast foreign labour surprised by the gentle English
weather getting annoyed with one and all, its just like home after all....

The North Sea By Satis Shroff
THE NORTH SEA (Satis Shroff)
The sea fascinates the artist in you,
It's dramatic setting,
With its ceaseless waves.
Strong winds are pushing
Curly clouds in the vast sky,
The heavy waves roll,
In the bluish-grey seascape,
Emitting a long line of spray,
Above the white froth.

Coping With Age
COPING WITH AGE
Age can steal our running legs
And drain our mighty arms
but it doesn’t change the great North Sea
or dim its vibrant charms
The winter sea has strength and grace
Its power shades of grey
Blue mists will kiss the faintest hearts
North winds blow aches away
Raw nature is magnificent
True courage does not age
A hearty soul does not count years
but must avoid a cage...

Gallant Scotland
Gallant Scotland's Fame
From Atlantic to North Sea
Ours is land again
With Europe’s largest oil reserves,
Our country again free.
All for Scotland’s freedom stand
Marching in national kilts,
Bagpipers are playing new hymn –
Saluting the country’s rebirth.
Caledonia – Scotland my country
With blue flag as skies above us,
White cross as innocence of Christ,
Independent, faithful and free....

North Sea Winter Dodoitsu
NORTH SEA WINTER
teasing dawn weeps winter fog
day's light prances swiftly by
ice floes in the blood of men
prism nights shatter

I Love Thee
I stood upon the ocean's bay shore
And with a fragile reed I traced upon
"Bobby I love thee."
The mad waves rolled by and blotted out
The fair impression.
Frail Reed! cruel wave!
Treacherous sand!
I'll trust no mere!
But with a giant hand,
I'll pluck from Scotland's
Frozen shore his tallest pine,
And dip its top into the crater of North Sea
And in the high and banished heavens I'll
Write: Bobby I love thee.
And I would like to see
Any doggoned wave wash that out....
