Listen to poem:
The moon was high, the wind did cry
As shadows danced in flight,
She wandered far beneath the sky
On that cold autumn night.

Children of the Night

Goblins and ghouls, we are.
Behind the paint,
Beneath the scars.
We tread the night,
Nocturne calls.
So fright the stars, we must.
For an ode to monsters,
A worthy trust.

Placid night Surrounding me Let me feel The warm wind blow Caressing me; I want to feel To remember Like in a dream The sweet breathing Of Ornella While kisses me.

Music of Night

The rhapsody
   Sonata of the heavens
      In the woodwinds of dusk
         Are the cherubic voices
Underneath a harvest moon
   The songs of passion
      Sweetly painting
         The nocturne

Premium Member Tulips

Drunk at
midnight, playing with
    moon squibs.

       *

    Hearing-
a nocturne,the spirit soars,
    when you are drowned.

       *

    A galaxy
invites me for a night vigil.
    Some elixir will rain.

*nocturne eye flicker*
*bite lip*
*rip asunder*

Malediction of a tragedy fused elegy,
mirror of red rum and visage of chaos.

The truth is a labyrinth of mirrors,
I am the reflection that stares back,
real you tryst behind quicksilver.

1: A bad dream will protrude in the new light
And the first conscious breathe will lapse,
Until the warm air of morning kills the night.

The dark images now simmer but not burn.
And the chaser and the tormentor must wait,
Until the moon composes the next nocturne.

Salt of the Earth

Rain fill this grave
soften bones that have been so brave;
your heart will hear my chord so simple
bloom an echo sweet and gentle;
to grow as life between the grass
guiding the sun and moon to pass;
listen for my voice is soft and light
a lingering nocturne in the night.

Idle nests linger
Fledgling feathers learn to fly
Angry winds scowl

The old bell shivers
Its tone muted in the cold
A fox perks its ears

A lost mitten weeps
What am I going to be
A field mouse moves in

An icy moon
A symphony of shadows
Nature’s nocturne

Melancholy Moment-Bite Size 23

On this chilled Winter night nightingales sing an idyllic song, their nocturne floats upon the wind. Wolves join with a haunting chorus as the moon reaches its zenith… a melancholy moment for me. October 12, 2021 Bite Size Poem no 23 Sponsor: Line Gauthier

Nocturne

At night-times like this
I use to put my finger on
the artery of silence
and listen to the cracks
between words and the unspoken,
for the blood drops are its pauses
speaking in the tongue
of slumbering stones,
keep on chanting
a song with a beck:
"live on love, live on love."

The Ballroom Nocturne

An altering life
a differing hell
Where the dancefloor is burning
Where the guests are unwell

Where the dancer's eyes burn
seared to the core
But not a single sound echoes
From on the dancefloor

Far from our world
another does burn
The slow scorching dance
The ballroom nocturne

Heavenly

A day is done.
Nocturne has come.
Heavenly night so caressing and quiet,
can hide pain in the shadows
and sing dreams till dawn
believing nothing’s wrong
while the star-studded sky sleeps,
cloaking the lonely ones who weep on
graceful tear stained pillows

Nocturne

Clouds of my mind
Chashing away the rainbow of you.
Monster realities casting shadows
Again and again and I am afraid
Of losing you.
I turn to run
But love blocks the passage to my escape
And I stay
And wait
For your return
Because I know you love me too!
Soon the clouds disappear
And the monsters were never here!

No one stirs the night, but the wind

Old wind chimes play to the moon

Caught in the breeze they swoon

to soothe the dark night...

Used to lure sleep

Reap dreams from

night with

ease

it
    is
        so
           peaceful..
nothing
       is
          moving,
           no
              noise
           no
               sound
just
my beating heart
and
      your breathing
so
close
to me..
       will
          you stay
or leave...?
