Cicadian Rhythm

cryptic cicada
nocturne of tymbals thrumming
cicatrix in brain

dead silence of night
my last breath in abeyance
for cicada song

This form is one of my favorite, you selected the perfect word to go with your haiku. Kind of dark for a haiku on the second one... I love it ... Linda ( a perfect 7 )

Thank you, Linda. You are absolutely right about the second one - this one is actually a senryu, but there is no form which combines the two that I know of! ~ kc~

Thank you, Paul. Haikus are wonderful because one can form innumerable ideas and toughts entrapped in the few words of the form. I feel it's like an unkown seed - you can see it, feel it, but can only imagine what it'll grow into. The author of the Haiku is only seized in his moment, his own wonderful world! (Sorry to be so carried away.... but just saying)

Tried my best to interlink a number of ideas together in one whole. The Cicada's song, a vigil, and the death rattle kept on hold in anticipationof the Cicada's sounds. Loved writing this. Am glad you felt the intrigue, Lenny.
