Behind her eyes
Scratches all over my body,
Pouring into the glass of wine that spilled over my wound,
Counting on my fingers, the night terrors,
Scrambling to find the door where my heart belongs.

Night Terrors
The dishes in the sink rattle loudly
The wind howling like the grey wolf
The floors creaking when no one's there
The lights begin to flicker
The shadows move about
Shivers run through me
Someone's watching
The door cracks
Haunted
Night...

Giant teeth angrily ripping flesh
Maniacal laughter, internal screaming
Irregular heartbeats
Insane night terrors
Paralysis and yet…
Silent screams coming from somewhere

Deathly living till dying breath.
Somber dreaming a lively death.

Body ailing, self enemy.
Ever changing the remedy.

Boldly living from open womb.
Never changing, to closing tomb.

Never living a normal life.
Ever planning for daily strife.

I wake up screaming, then I fall back asleep.
Before the night is over this process will repeat.
When I awake for the day I have no memory
of my previous evening's most disturbing sleep.
These aren't nightmares. They're inconceivable horrors.
I think I may be afflicted with what is known as night terrors....

In the pitch darkness of the night
Where nightmares come to fright and haunt
I lie awake my heart in flight
In the pitch darkness of the night
Praying, pleading, for morning light
When fearsome terrors cease to taunt
In the pitch darkness of the night
Where nightmares come to fright and haunt

Other people’s nightmares and night terrors do not interest me
Or persuade, coax or encourage me to have my own.
I refuse to acknowledge their existence.
Others tell me cryptic tales, sharing morbid woes.
I slumber as peacefully as a newborn colt
Dreaming of the good life
A bobcat’s scream changes me forever...

Pacific Ocean
i wish i could swim the pacific ocean and back.

and when i came back to sit in front of a burning burning fire

until it dried me to the bone.

and for my skeleton to be hung above your bed

to act as a catcher of your night terrors

and it would work

because you would know that i was magical.

because i swam the whole pacific ocean and back.

for you....

Night Terrors
Used and abused
Lies and misused
I'm sick of the person I've become
So sick of all of the wrong that I have done
Change is something
I strive for everyday
But it's so hard
The abuse keeps the pain away
So I stay at bay to keep the nightmares away
The demons only come out at night
They surround me
they give me a fright
lost for days
My mind twisted in a haze
I don't know what to say
don't know what to do
I just can't seem to get over you...

A Passing Thought
. for public domain

The light inside will dart and flee,
but sometimes when she looks at me,
and thinks back on the trials and errors,
the ecstasies and dark night terrors,

the grind of everyday routine,
and all the burdens in between,
she had my arm to lean upon.
When she stopped, I'd say, "C'mon."

and I love you's said not easily,
but when they're said, said pleasily.
"At least he's always there for me."
I hope that's what she thinks of me....

Night Terrors

Before the pink of the morning,
When all is dark awaiting,
My mind awakes and travels to
Places I thought I’d forsaken,
It shuffles with its stick, looking under the ashes,
For events so long unremembered,
And I, I’m shaken and waiting,
What does it all mean?

Where is the peace of my Savior,
When I cry after reliving done and undone,
Or is He there, teaching me, purging my soul,
And with that thought, I lie in His arms of forgiving love....

NIGHT TERRORS

When distant daylight is spent and spilled,
My lamp alone lights the curtained darkness
Of unseen fear, which has always filled
The weary black pit yawning endless

Into the night; and all the unknown
Terrors of the dreamworld
Conspire to extinguish my lamp lone
When the smothering curtain is unfurled.

Oh, how the dawn moves on leaden feet
To reach far into the shaded recess.
Oh, let it make haste to meet
My sleepless darkness with succor and nearness....

The sky reflects the broken bodies laid out.
Blood soaked field and severed heads skewered on pikes.
Racing forth towards fallen comrades with a shout.

The sky reflects the broken bodies laid out.
Impaled into the chest, blood flowed there is no doubt.
Haunted Night terrors, squeezing heart-rending pain strikes.

The sky reflects the broken bodies laid out.
Blood soaked field and severed heads skewered on pikes.

Stuck In the Dark
My sleep used to be peaceful
I slept without dreams
And without bone chilling memories
I wake up in tears
From the sound of my screams.

My nights are tainted
My world is being opened
My inner peace destroyed

I'm afraid to sleep
These nightmares are killing me
I don't know what to do
I'm stuck in the dark
Afraid of the truths revealed

The night terrors - constant
Sleep - a dIstant memory
            BUT
Id rather not sleep
Then see the horrors
Of a time once forgotten...
