Premium Member New Zealand Shows Us How

The USA media is going to kill us all
Giving the shooters fame
We should be more like New Zealand
“A coward walked into a grade school”.
They never had another school shooting.

Relatively Speaking

Bless them all, I love them dearly
With all of their imperfections
They are a reflection of myself -
Ironic genetic selections

Invercargill New Zealand 1905

Big Face

Facebook is called a social Network,

True,

It is not only dealing with faces,

Also in some other cases,

Match making,

Touching,

From Green Lands to New Zealand,

Austria to Australia,

A distance unable to fly,

Without human wings!

Day Break

The moon hangs like a giant orb in the sky,
so the Morepork ends his plaintif cry.
As the new day begins,
cicadas begin their incessant din.
The rising sun turns the tree tops to a golden green,
It is dawn, truly a beautiful scene.

The Morepork is a New Zealand native owl.

* While natural phenomena become fiercer and more distractive by the year,
see Australia, New Zealand, Peru, Bolivia, humans seem to ignore nature's
 warnings!

Abel Tasman - Diary 1642

ABEL TASMAN - DIARY 1642

Long since we left the quay,
My glass has scanned the astral dome.
Bright though these stars may be,
They are not the stars of home.

Premium Member Dawn

Rimmed with red,
the sky emerges
from an alcoholic haze,
collapses on the shoulder of a hill.

As thin-lipped
as the letter box,
I brush a broken bottle
from the driveway:

shards of glass
that tinkle on the tarmac,
sharp as laughter
in an empty room.

Premium Member What To Do First

she stares out of eyes that feel pure happiness
she has arrived in New Zealand with her honey
Today is theirs!
everything is possible.
the sun greets her by warming her face
where to start? what to do first?
the possibilities are magnificent.
she turns and smiles at the photographer.
feeing joy she cannot explain.

Premium Member Examples of understatement

What if the orbiting earth were to unexpectedly run into a brick wall
speeding through the galaxy one night in the middle of Fall?
Can you imagine the sounds of death, destruction, and annihilation
as Christchurch, New Zealand, crashes into the Atlanta Metro bus station?
I don’t think that that would be any fun at all!

New Zealand Sunrise

I see the mountain far aloft,
Its grace and beauty shine and oft',
I wonder from which vantage best,
to seek the wonders of its crest.

Yet this mound I wish not to climb,
for from here is the most sublime,
a feeling, when it's needed most.
To conquer'd make this pang a ghost.

So I'd prefer to sit and dream.
Than lose forever, what I seek.

Between the trees
a waterfall
                  of
                     light,
a stillness
bright with bubbling springs
and birdsong.
Here you stumbled
                                 on
                                    that
strange intensity
by which
the tongue-tied earth
is made articulate.

Where Do Rich People Go

Rich people are busy like a bee
Real rich people show is kaleidoscopic
I have read their moments
They go to French farm
For picking up the ripe grapes
Go to Milan for the fashion show
And eat sunflower seeds
Some will go to sweetveld for animal migration
Some will go to New Zealand for fishing
Some will go to beautiful places if they wanted to.

Fireworks

They are loud and noisy
They are for special occasions
Christmas and New Years Eve
And Guy Fawkes Night
They are bright and high up in the sky
They strike through the sky at an amazing pace
When fireworks go off with a bang
The crowd will cheer
Fire works are in every country
From Australia to America
From New Zealand to the Netherlands
They will go off with a bang

Premium Member New Zealand is Progressive and Fair

New Zealand is more progressive and fair than most nations
in 1893, she was the first country to give women the right to vote.
a right that makes sense in every country except America.
where your vote might never count,
until the electoral college is abolished.
an archaic system that ensures the wealthy get more say
New Zealand looks better than ever these days.
a democracy is so much more appealing than a republic.

Premium Member New Zealand's Euthanasia Law

Potential Euthanasia law in New Zealand
Encouraging Euthanasia
Profoundly Eye-opening

Might encourage
All kinds of people
Who had never thought of it before
To accept suicide

Unclear if this law has been passed
A dangerous precedent.
Making suicide common

Making taking your own life
Acceptable
Desirable
Natural

Scary to me
What this could do
to a society
Where teenagers are
already casually killing themselves

The scent of wood fires
In the cool damp air
Mistletoe exposed naked spires
As birds leave nest bare

Squirrels dance merrily
Across from tree to tree
Nuts, acorns hidden abundantly
Now they can play_ just be

the best poems are written on
napkins, scrapes of old paper,

This was written like one of those..
