The rain thunders from the sky,
So hard you can barely see.
If rain is just the angels that cry,
Then very sad they must be,
For those tears are flowing free.
Let it rain on the
drought-shrouded
terrains.
Let it rain on the
meadow and her
grains;
For the ember stare of
the bridled sun
Fiddles and suffuses our
flaccid corn.
THOU RAIN
Oh rain why art thou falleth
Isn’t it to stain the earth?
Yes! To accord a soothing comfort
Oh rain why art thou falleth
Aren’t you on a mission?
Hmm... To rescue the earth
To vomit her eternal burden
~~~~The rain just inspired me to write this, not the best, but it is something.~~~~
Silent rain hits the ground.
While the gutters make all the sound.
The smog covers up my window.
Drip, Drop, Plop, Plop,
The silent rain hits the ground.
Slumber induced by
Falling rain outside window.
Insomnia gone.
for the contest "Rain"
I have always had a problem with insomnia, but when it rains at night the sound always lulls
me to sleep, whether a gentle rain or all out storm,
dark clouds overhead
with heavy rain unending…
the sea is claiming all
dark in the morning
foretells the rainstorm coming….
sojourner take care
spring rains bring flowers
dark rains of winter bring floods….
downed lines and blackouts
A humid day at Lowell ponds,
falling rain last night,
cleaned up nature's home.
Fresh air do I smell,
such clean water that
covers this pond.
A humid day in Colorado
is such a rare event,
more rain is on it's way.
So this pond will stay
clean for ducks, geese,
and fish to enjoy.
Softly the rain drops fall
Delaying the wetting game
Tricked I may be
Oh that’s a shame
Beautiful I say it is
And I praise the mighty rain
Oh I brought no umbrella with me
And I am the one to blame
But its rain and rains
Relentlessly
Until I’m fully flooded
Comes it does for me
Until I’m clod blooded??
Form:
the rain drops spuratically
hitting every pane of glass
till all is wet to touch
the rain pours deeper now
splattering upon the grass
till it's too much
the rain a steady stream along the driveway crease
filling the drain
washing away the leaves of winter past
how many tears can angels cry over the world's mass?
Robin sitting on a bush
by the pond on this warm
morning, eating berries with
out a care in the world.
Red winged blackbirds visiting
others of their kind,
as he sings his beautiful
song they know so well.
Pond has so much grime
from one end to the other
no rain in sometime may be
reason, rain your so welcome here.
Plants hungry from drought -
Open their leafy arms wide
Welcome nourishment
After two weeks of hot sun, we finally had nearly a foot of rain yesterday. It was enough to bring some green back to the once-brown lawn. Hallelujah! We used to have showers nearly every afternoon in the spring and summer, but that hasn't been the case this year so the rain was truly welcome.
I peer through the window looking out side seeing the rain drop from the sky,
Watching the birds fly to their nest covering their babies as they sit down and rest,
Watching a butter fly trying its best to fit through the rain drops as it heads west,
The sun is shining through the sky as the storm finally passes by,
I see the beauty flowing through the sky watching the nature as it goes by.
This morning, when I awoke
The rain was thundering down.
So hard, so fast,
Sounding like drums on the roof.
Then... it stopped.
Now the sun is brightly beaming down.
The wet leaves, still dripping
Have a glorious shine to them.
Everything looks so bright,
Fresh.
Through the trees
I see the clear blue sky.
Soft white clouds
Where only an hour before
A dark rain cloud
Covered everything.
Fickle weather.
Pitter patter nothing matters when it starts to rain
Wash away everything and hear that same refrain
No one can tell if you cry when the tears and drops blend
Stick out your tongue and let your worries end
The rain can be your very best friend when everything is wrong
In the rain you can be yourself, acting now is gone
Start to dance with the water that might just make you sane
Let's forget everything and just enjoy the rain!
.
Fluffy cotton clouds
Offering fast balloon ride
No rain in sight now
Floating over tree
Enveloping it with fog
Rain pours bringing joy
.
Purple Liatris
Spikes underdeveloped now
Rain scarce, high heat here
All suffers_trees, plants
Animals must sustain sweat
Rain needed at once
on a sweltering day, I watch the sky
as it tries to eke out tears. . . .
but it simp ly can not
drenched in sweat, too stifled even to stir,
I see grey clouds gathering -
then suddenly explode!
sheets upon sheets of rain come pounding down -
freed, I stand smiling beneath. . . .
as heaven weeps for joy
For P.D's BEST RAIN POEM Contest
(This is a form called Kimo. Kin to haiku,
each Kimo has three lines with count 10/7/6)
The rainclouds loom over the town
Like a cold, grayish wet blanket
That soon will unleash and rain down
its wrathful torrent in buckets.
I’ve seen this many times before-
This quietude before the storm-
A preface to what is in store:
An incredible thunderstorm.
Behold! The tempest has begun.
Wind is blowing from the northeast
Lightning bolts on the horizon
The odor of ozone increased
And as though it were timed, thunder
Brought rain as I watched in wonder.
